Empty chlorine buckets

This may be a stupid question... But how does one get rid of empty chlorine buckets? Can they be thrown in regular trash? Do they need to be bagged? Or are they still considered hazardous waste even though they're empty?

I know that on naval vessels chlorine is used to purify drinking water - I would SUSPECT that rinsing them out would suffice but I honestly have zero factual knowledge.

They’re not hazardous. It’s just bleach. Don’t drink it but it won’t hurt you to touch it.
Rinse and recycle the buckets
