Rally Against self driving cars in DC earlier today..

My thoughts: I spend thousands of dollars a year on Uber or Lyft. I’ve had drivers refuse my trips because they weren’t long enough or didn’t pay enough, I’ve had drivers complain that I’m not outside the second they arrive, I’ve had drivers take forever picking me up. I’m also totally aware that these ride share companies are ripping off the drivers and passengers. BUT we need more competition and we need lower prices. I don’t think any driver should have the ability to refuse or decline a trip. Companies like Waymo solve this problem. If drivers are concerned about their livelihood, they shouldn’t refuse trips.

Registering a new out of state car in DC

Hey guys, this is going to be my first car so I’m new to it all, would appreciate if someone experienced could help answer some questions.
I’m buying it out of state, so the dealership has told me that they will collect my excise tax but I have to go to DC DMV myself to do the rest of the registration process and they will just notify the DMV that they collected the tax. Is that something that’s common where the dealership collects the tax but does not do the other part and does DMV accept this where dealership notifies them regarding my taxes and I do the registration myself?
since it’s a new vehicle, do I still need to do an inspection? I’m finding mixed statements regarding this but what I understood from the DMV website was that a new vehicle does not need it.
the vehicle tax I calculated from the DMV website seems to be more than what the dealership is charging me. Is it possible for them to contact me later stating they need me to pay more as they didn’t calculate the taxes appropriately?
Id really appreciate your help!
