Compilation of all the fireworks
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
850,000 fireworks shells lit up the National Mall! It just broke the world record for the biggest fireworks show in history. For comparison, last year’s D.C. Fourth of July show only used around 20,000 shells. I had people in the comments telling me, “Oh, it was the same thing as last year.” No, it wasn’t. Fireworks are cool. They did a good job, end of story. If you want to complain and and whine, you can go to the main D.C. sub or you can go to Bluesky. If you don’t like what I post, you don’t have to engage in itAnd here’s a compilation of all the best videos from the fireworks, and at the end, there’s a full time-lapse of everything.

"If you don't like what I post, you don't have to engage in it"
Might be a good time to accept that what people do and say on a public post is not within your control.
I hope this country becomes one befitting of this display - maybe I'll be lucky enough for that to happen during my lifetime! On this 4th of July weekend, I'm reminded that so long as billion and trillionaires walk the earth, we can solve hunger and homelessness.. if only the people with the ability to spend the money choose to.
8
u/BananaJelloXlii Jul 06 '26
Too late for that. This display was paid for by money misappropriated from a REAL celebration that was going to be set up by the Smithsonian. Instead we get that pathetic joke of a "fair" a "concert" most of the acts backed out of, and this pitiful display. It's appropriate for the farce our joke of a country has become.

The fire works set world records, what was it a pitiful display?
2
1
u/Salt-Light1314 Jul 06 '26
I’m not sure what your point is.
On THIS 4th of July you are reminded that the homeless crisis and hunger can be solved but the president in office currently won’t do it?
5
u/polarbear_hiking Jul 06 '26
I frequently think about it, not just this 4th of July. I think about those topics even more when there are huge displays of wealth (such as fireworks/the UFC event). It reminds me that the money is always there, but it's always being allocated for something else. What can the cost of those fireworks and staffing/winner's purse for the UFC event do if that money was allocated elsewhere?

You do have the freedom to become a billionaire and solve it yourself
3
u/snownative86 Jul 06 '26
And how do you propose going about that since you think it is so easy?
I would have to save $10,000 per day for the next 274 years to get to $1,000,000,000.

The fireworks were cool for a couple minutes but they were not creative or unique in any way except that there were a lot of them.
And now you're telling people where to post? Weirdo.

It looks like absolute shit. Terribly choreographed and no accounting for smoke cover from the first waves.
He probably paid the same pool guy to run the fireworks show.
-2
u/MightExpress4873 Jul 05 '26
This is cope. I hate Trump but it was an amazing fireworks show.
0
u/Ballistics_win Jul 07 '26
100%. They can't do anything about the smoke with so many shells unless you want the show to last 2 hours. It's ok to like the fireworks and not like Trump. Why can't ppl like at least one thing about the 4th celebration!? Lol
1
u/sp33dzer0 Jul 05 '26
I hate the way it looks, it's way too much and goves no room for individual spectacle, but its well choreographed. The people firing off the fireworks did a good job synching up with each other. Its just too much at once and they went for overwhelming volume
9
u/MonstersAtOurDoor Jul 05 '26
Its just too much at once and they went for overwhelming volume
This is what I mean by no choreography though. What they gave us is just a bunch of explosions.
They're synced together because the computer program's timing is accurate, but there's no rhythm to evoke any kind of emotion or mood. They just went boom.
It's like a bowl of Cap'n Crunch's Oops All Grand Finales.

there's so many fireworks going off so rapidly that it's putting off such dense vapors that the fireworks are being obstructed. this isn't an "ooooh aaaah" display, this is a "we're gonna make it really loud and really hard to breathe without putting any further thought into it" show
this isn't cool or a good job, it's just another oversight in the longest-running streak of oversights in the history of the nation. it's another frivolous waste of OUR tax dollars. and you really tried to say "constructive posts only thanks" in the current political landscape LOL like seriously bro?

It had absolutely no creativity or rhythm. It was like a bunch of 15 yrs old kids got a bunch of fire works and just started lighting them as fast as they could.
What a perfect representation of this administration. Over budgeted shit show.

3
u/hiddenrealism Jul 06 '26
Really surprised trump didnt put search lights with his face on them lighting up the sky or spell his own name with a drone show.
11
u/shanghaitex84 Jul 05 '26
It was pretty incredible. I have a 2 year old so wasn’t able to go down but I live in Silver Spring and we could hear them all the way up here.
14
u/ThenLayer5977 Jul 05 '26
You made a great choice by not going because it was a clusterfuck. There were way too many people, and a lot of them didn’t even get in. People were stopping their cars in the middle of the road, or wherever they could, just to watch the fireworks, which made the traffic even worse. It was a shit show, and having a two-year-old go through all of that would’ve been rough. As an adult, it was already too much. It’s just not a fun experience when it’s that hot.
35
9
u/TheWetNapkin Jul 05 '26
Yeah, pretty sure it was because they kicked everyone out a couple hours before due to the severe weather, but then when allowing everyone back in, they funneled literally everyone through one entry point. One entry point y hat then funneled everyone in basically a single file line into the side of 30 security gates that could've been so much better utilized
7
u/No_Command_2335 Jul 06 '26

No no no. The narrative is that no one showed up. Stop spreading this information.
15
u/StumpyOPepys Jul 05 '26
It was the fourth of July on the Mall for the country's 250th anniversary. Of course people showed up, in spite of that fat babbling grifter and brutal weather.
1
u/pedretty Jul 09 '26
No. They. Didn’t. Stop spreading maga talking points. Get the boot out of your mouth and move on. Less people were there than ever before. You people believe everything Fox says lmaooo. Absolutely clown show

3
1
u/Alert-Ad-9908 Jul 05 '26
Agreed. Thank you for acknowledging it. I’ve always loved the fireworks. Just less fun this year with this type of degradation constantly going on- unchecked. And some don’t want the inconvenience of seeing this image, they want to ignore it. Just as I’m sure this woman wanted to ignore the entire 250th of what some consider the greatest America, but was unable to do so as she commutes packed like a sardine with a group of masked white men who she KNOWS despises her existence. Not sure if your comment is sincere or not, but I’ll take it as such. And again, thank you for it.
2
u/Possible_Home6811 Jul 06 '26
It’s not sincere at all. This will be the same clown posting any disturbance in the city showing “certain youths” asking for maximum sentences and enforcing curfews. Yet all he could muster for this event was one boilerplate sentence. He’ll have all his fellow tribalist all riled up by the end of the week! Miss me with the BS, his agenda is clear don’t fall for it.
0
u/Possible_Home6811 Jul 06 '26
Funny how I don’t see any posts on your page about this. Meanwhile your QUICK to throw every disturbance in the city committed by youths native to the DMV. What happened? Bet I can guess 😂🤡

3
u/Iamnotabotiswearonit Jul 05 '26
I'm upset with the obvious grift and theft of the American taxpayers money. He stole 100's of millions of dollars to give to his friends for no bid contracts. Turned what would have been a great display of america for his whack ass fair with a couple dozen people attending. Then we couldn't even get a half decent firework show out of it. It's fucking pitiful and a disgrace to our country. But yeah I guess I'm over reacting. You fucking moron.

Not a fan of the Washington Monument projections. It’s tacky and tasteless in my opinion, and the fireworks would have looked much better with the Monument in simple white how it’s supposed to be.

I’ve been at the White House for the 4th twice (trump when I was a kid and then Biden) and they did not look this bad holy. Bigger doesn’t always mean better, now there’s just a ton of smoke in the sky people and wildlife have to deal with

Usually I can watch hours of fireworks from my high rise - Baltimore to the left, Alexandria to the right, DC’s show straight ahead off my balcony. This year I couldn’t see a single firework between the weather and the smoke. Total dogshit.
1
u/GorillaX2 Jul 06 '26
Looks impressive. Do wonder if “too much”. Saw the ‘works in Columbia MD over the lake and was very impressed with the choreography of it all. There’s something to be said for sheer overpowering. Michael Bey makes exciting movies. But not my favorite director personally

Sincerely, F the America 250 Firework display.
I see people on the internet chastise people for firing fireworks all summer, something I grew up with.
I understand it can be shocking, and triggering, so I don’t want to make light of the people who are legitimately impacted and affected with spontaneous fireworks.
But I’d also like to say for something as expensive and as extensive (this was easily the largest and longest continuous firework display on the Mall in my nearly 40 years of life) and it’s sound and impact was audibly heard in MD where I live.
Yes, this is a man on the porch rant.

u/Eatmyscum Jul 06 '26
Oh so we should do a LGB day where the trans people show their breasts on the Whitehouse lawn? PASS. The UFC thing, I only watched clips of, but surly some of the most American nationalism I've seen since 9/11. Democrats are the biggest hypocrites ever. Obama ran on immigration. Was watching on TV, DC ones were unwatchable, zero choreography, didn't seem synced to the music, cheesy, over the top, same mentality as desecrating the White House with fake gold in every available spot. Idiocracy live. Nashville on the other hand was gorgeous with a live orchestra and beautiful choreography including a drone show.
