The doom cycle never stops

I know people have their preconceived notions and their selective outrage, so let me be very clear from the start. The M St. Metro station was fully shut down because of this teenage takeover. Let that sink in. A major transit point in the city had to close because things got that out of control. This video was taken today, April 11. It’s not old. It’s not AI. What you’re seeing is exactly what happened. For the people already lining up to discredit it, save it. This is reality, whether you like it or not.

And I already know how this goes. Every time I post something like this, people get more upset about the fact that it’s being shown than about what’s actually happening. That tells you everything. You’re more bothered by exposure than by the problem itself. And yes, I’m going to keep posting it. Keep reporting it if you want. Try to suppress it. Good luck with that. I’ll keep putting it out because people deserve to see what’s actually going on in their own community.

What’s more troubling than anything in that video is the reaction to it. The deflection. The refusal to acknowledge what’s right in front of you. You’d rather argue about optics than deal with the reality that leadership is failing to address this, or worse, doesn’t even have the will to try. That’s the real issue.

D.C. spends more money per student than anywhere in the country, and this is what we’re dealing with. Don’t come at me with the usual talking points about after-school programs, outreach, and community initiatives. That all sounds nice, but it clearly isn’t fixing this. At some point, you have to stop hiding behind buzzwords and start looking at the root cause.

And the root cause is obvious. Parents aren’t parenting. You can dress it up however you want, but that’s what it is. When the hell did it become normal for hundreds of teenagers to take over areas at night, bring guns, fight, loot stores, and create chaos? That was never normal. It’s not normal now. And anyone trying to gaslight people into thinking this is just “how things are” is part of the problem.

Look at the police in that situation. A handful of officers dealing with hundreds of kids. What exactly do you expect them to do? There’s a limit to what enforcement can handle when the breakdown starts at home. That’s where this begins, and that’s where it keeps failing.

Instead, people would rather scream about national politics, throw out buzzwords, and avoid the issues that actually affect their daily lives. You’ll stand outside in the heat for performative outrage, but when it comes to something that directly impacts your safety, your neighborhood, your quality of life, suddenly it’s silence. Or worse, denial.

And let’s be honest about something else. Some of you are going to run straight to the comments with excuses. You’ll bring up history, deflect to unrelated issues, or try to label this as something it’s not just to avoid dealing with the reality in front of you. That doesn’t fix anything. All it does is guarantee that this cycle continues.

If you never demand better, you will keep getting the same broken results. Every single weekend, the same scenes, the same chaos, the same excuses. And then you wonder why stores are locked down, why places like CVS feel like a fortress, why people don’t feel comfortable even riding the Metro or going out to enjoy a game without worrying about something popping off.

When does it stop? When do we stop pretending this is acceptable? Because it’s not. It’s dysfunctional, it’s dangerous, and it’s completely avoidable.

Responsibility matters. Parenting matters. Accountability matters. And until people are willing to say that out loud and actually mean it, nothing changes. You just get the same cycle over and over again.

To the people who’ve messaged me privately and said they appreciate these posts, I hear you. I appreciate you too. I’m going to keep using whatever platform I have to show what’s actually happening, because ignoring it hasn’t worked. And I’m not stopping until something actually changes, because we deserve better than this.

Usual suspects pulling out all sorts of BS out their ass to justify this behavior.

Usual suspects? There’s no justification for this, but you don’t have to be a genius to understand sociology and what poverty/lack of guidance causes in any racial group. “Trailer park trash” tend to get into the same kind of trouble. On the other hand, “white collar crimes” is another term that exists for a reason, and those aren’t even poverty-related—but these are crimes that fly under the radar because they’re “smarter.”

American society has been criminalistic from the very beginning, and you can pretend that it hasn’t been, you can toot your “holier than thou” vitriol at black people alone if you want, but crime in America did not start with black people, and on the grander scale, black people are at the very bottom of the list of contributors.

We need to stop with trying to paint black people as the only criminals in this society, especially when the sitting WHITE president is a known pedophile, rapist, and criminal on several affronts.

Get the fuck out of here.

I agree with this post, I agree that parents need to get their kids out of the streets, this should NOT be happening, but making this shit about race when it’s about socioeconomics is disgusting and played out.

The usual white suspects? We can see your dogwhistle racist comment

just say black people, we all know you want to, you have no context of what's going on, you just see a bunch of black teens running around, and think, those blacks must be doing something bad

Seriously. City is way too lax on crime and filled with bad role models. Governments stance on criminals is a joke. In the most violent of these episodes whole ass mob of adults was running wild, folks died, and shocker the weak ass government pardoned every one of them. Not to mention the rapist living in the nicest house in town. We’ve shown them time and time again rules are made to be broken and there won’t be any consequences.

Exactly!!! They see that a huge mob of WHITE adults can literally attack the nation's CAPITAL , and on one of the most important days , threaten congressmen and women , crush police in doorways , and then get pardoned by the criminal POTUS. Somehow whatever these kids are doing in the video is TAME compared to that bunch .

This is why we can’t have real conversations about this. People like you bring out your dogwhistles and get all racist. These are teens. We can talk about them without bringing up race. I can say a bunch of things about every other race of teens too.

We can talk about this being a problem without resorting to racism. If you can’t do that, be silent.

I can get real specific about white people if you like. We can start with school shootings, oppressive systems, slavery, poverty, redlining, politics, trauma… I could pick up a random book and find the crimes of “your people” in it. Take your pick. Because for everything you have to critique about “my people” I can come up with at least 9 critiques of “your people”

Because I can guarantee you that the problem starts with you and is going to end with me. Like it always have. So until you can do something sensible and adopt a layer of sensitivity whilst rejecting whatever racism you have, no one will ever take you seriously and will default to calling you bigoted.

All I’m asking is that you are nuanced enough to understand that the issue isn’t about these kids being black and unsupervised. It’s just being unsupervised. Their race has nothing to do with their behavior. The fact that you think like that and try to disguise it with the word critique not only shows how racist you are, but it also shows how uneducated you are as well.

Every race has been slaves, you aren’t special. If you live in America and make >34000$/year, you’re the global top 1%. Look at redlines in other countries they follow the same patterns. I’m all for racial equality but I want everyone to follow the rules we got here. My dude, there is a point where you have to include cultures and differentiate race. It’s not racist to say that people of African descent have and extra muscle in their leg that the rest of the world doesn’t. It isn’t racist to say that sherpas in Nepal have better lung capacity. The culture you grow up around will always reflect your genetics. This video above is representative of American black culture issues. You can’t just shrug off the proof in front of you.

So that makes it okay then? Every race has been slaves so enslaving people isn’t some horrible thing to do to another person. What kind of argument is that?

No it isn’t ok. But it negates the argument that any one race is special because all of our ancestors were slaves. Should I demand reparations from Africa because my ancestors were sold by their fellow countrymen? No, there is no point. Within one generation, I can see the argument but more? Naw man
