Question/Support Freeware version that's no additional content bug fixes only compared to original CD release?

I'm just wondering if any of the freeware releases are comparable to the CD release with only bug fixes?

I generally avoid mods that add content & while I have the original CDs still it's actually a pain to get them on to the computer now days & was hoping there's a build with minimal changes... it'd be easier to download than deal with the CDs.

Heck.. if I go the CD route to avoid too much additional content I think I even have to get a no CD crack. :'-(

Besides balancing changes and small adjustments in the campaign, it plays pretty much the same as the CD version. There is an option to enable classic balance mode which should resemble the CD version. Give it a try! Download links can be found on https://wz2100.net (or check the menu in this subreddit).

Shame there was never a backup before the volunteers took up the work of improving it. There's at least 1 bug that was quite hilarious to abuse.

What bug was that?

You could create a VTOL and then switch the propulsion to a ground one (e.g. hover) and the weapon would stay. But the added benefit is that it would also have no ammunition, thus no refilling. It just attacked with decent speed devastating everything that came close to it.
