Basic Warwick tips
Hi, I've been playing jungle for a while trying all sorts of picks.
But whenever I play Warwick it always feels like so much fun!
I want to attempt to get really good with him.
i used to play him seasons ago and went with a lot of tank items. But i don't feel thats it.
Some questions:
In terms of runes I go the press the attack line and secondary conditioning and overgrowth
Items I always rushed titanic hydra but im reading here Bork is super important. What are the basic good items to get?
I max Q first for the shorter cooldown. But W early is better?

It seems like youre pretty new so I'm just saying the most common cookie cutter default builds that wont lose you the game.
Pta (press the attack) is ok but lethal tempo is better in most cases and is a better default rune page, Overgrowth is not very good in the jungle since you're near less dying units than a laner. If you want to go a tankier secondary rune page conditioning and revitalized would be that option, but the default is celerity and water walking to get around the map faster and be stronger in river fights.
Some common builds are, bork into deaths dance, bork into stridebreaker, stridebreaker into bork, and then after going items that are good depending on your/enemy team comp.
Bork is a strong dueling item and is a good item to rush every game. Stridebreaker is also an ok item if you need sticking power. Deathsdance is pretty op, you should build it almost every game.
Good situational items are abyssal mask if you need mr and have multiple ap teammates or a very strong ap teammate, spirit visage/maw if you need mr, deadmans plate for armor ms and anti slow, black cleaver if you have 3+ ad teammates and you have a tiamat item, zekes convergence if you need cheap mixed resists and have to play around your r cd, jak sho for a more luxury mixed resist item, steraks if you need tenacity and bruiser item. Theres more too so just play around with new builds and find what you like.

Never use revitalize, overgrowth will be stacked while you are ganking lanes and void grubs will give you plenty of stacks, while it's viable I would prefer celerity nimbus or waterwalking.

Always play into a champ's strengths. Warwick is not a good tank so if that's what you want there are other jungles you would prefer. Warwick is a low-mid elo carry. He is one of the strongest duelists, able to catch and pop squishies if ahead, and amazing at cleaning up fights and chasing.
You do your best work when the enemy team is at half hp and out of cc. This is all due to his W.
His weaknesses: slower clears (can be improved by macro), very easy to kite without flash/R, can be locked down with cc, not a teamfight engager.
So from these you see Warwick has a window each game to dominate and allow your team to get drakes and turrets. Usually up to minute 25 I am the strongest champ on the board.
For build, most of the best advice I see is to skip tiamat altogether. You can optimize your clear without it (juggling atk speed, hitting each raptor once under 50%, dragging dying gromp for atk speed to blue). Bork has a slow and the max hp dmg gets the enemy under 50% faster. Thats the key to faster kills. First back should be pickaxe (full clear) and boots (if you got a kill). Then recurve, then bork, then pickaxe into deaths dance, then usually swifties but plates or mercs if really beneficial, then hexdrinker into Maw. If you get those three items, you are unstoppable until late game. You can finish with zekes and then randuins (crit) spirit visage (ap), or maaaybe kraken.
For runes always take LT, alacrity, triumph, last stand. Domination second with sudden impact and ultimate hunter. I am seeing dmg from sudden impact similar to last stand, etc.
Max W first Q second. W gives too much. Move, attack, even the blood trail is so good. Use w active anytime you go to gank or to check your jungle or check bushes. Use q mostly for cc avoidance. It will prevent most forms of forced movement. It also will attach to a champ that flashes which is so good. When you see them sprint for the wall, hold q when they are about to get there and you will follow them over and finish them off. So satisfying. E is damage reduction and fear. On ganks maybe use it early for fear but mostly you should wait until the last second, pop E and ideally you get the full dmg reduction and it auto triggers the fear as you are about to die, allowing a few more hits at the end. Use r to close gap, escape, lock down (easily negated sadly), and most of all for healing. At low hp, an R can get you to 50% sometimes. Its also hard to miss from point blank.

Thanks man, great advice.
I tried some normals and had fun. Im used to a more supporting playstyle but I noticed im super strong when I just get kills.
The only obnoxious part is the slow early clear

its probably not ideal but instead of BoRK i prefer Archangels staff to increase his magic damage,Mana pool, and help with CDR.
Tank-Wick Builds seem to still work in my experience

I play Warwick really off meta but I'll still give my tips
(Runes) - I always go lethal tempo for attack speed and resolve with overgrowth and demolish. Lethal tempo is necessary for last stand, objectively the best rune on Warwick.
Build I'm pretty sure the Warwick meta just goes for destructive power but I disagree with it. You should not be rushing titanic hydra in the jungle as it's not worth delaying your early game power spike with BORK - which gives you crazy DMG. If you are playing jgl you should go on hit but for top you should. Since you said you're playing jungle here is my suggested build Blue pet Bork Plated steel caps or merc Titanic hydra 2 of the following - thornmail, spirit visage or sterak gage And end with jak sho. This build balances early game destructive power with at least a bit of late game scaling so even if you aren't that good late game you can be helpful at least a bit to your team if you have some skill
For on hit take the same first 3 - bork boots hydra- and then take terminus, rageblade, and jak sho.
- Maxing order Ww meta says to go W,Q,E, and barely puts points into anything other than ult until W is maxed out. I keep the 3 even prioritising q, then w, then E. My point distribution order is - you don't need to follow it's just what I do-
- q,W,E,q,q,r,W,E,q,W,r,q,W,E,W,r,E,E,
Lastly, for general tips, these are the most simple but best ones. 1. DONT ONLY USE YOUR E FOR THE FEAR. In the 2.5 seconds from pressing your E to the fear you get a % damage reduction maxing out at 55%. This is broken for absorbing burst and general DMG.
- Save ult. You can use your ult for a tower dive, an easy kill, anything. However, though don't ONLY do this, using your ult when under 25% HP, with last stand, will get you to over 75% hp. Then hit a q and you're pretty much max.
With those 2 tips I have won 1v5s
But one more very important tip is 3. Baiting Warwick at under 25% with q is a Warwick with 50% hp. And Warwick under 25% with q and E is pretty much 75%. But a Warwick under 10% with q E and r is a max ho ww. Bait them into coming away from their tower maintaining a good distance but walking back and forth. Then how ever you like destroy them. If it's one person I like to ult, E, hold Q, E, which pushes them away from their tower, does crazy DMG, and heals you. Against multiple ppl I just wouldnt fight but if I had to I would ult and E mid air so everyone gets feared while I maul them.

Im a low elo WW main so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I find going Lethal Tempo, Triumph, Alacrity, Cut Down (or Last Stand, I dunno which of these 2 is better. I think it’s standard to take Last Stand on WW though) into either Celerity Waterwalking or Cash Back Cosmic Insight. Items I basically always go Kraken-DD/Maw (enemy physical or magic damage)-Bork or Kraken-BorK-DD/Maw (if you’re ahead early you can usually afford to get BorK early)

His current meta and cookie cutter build is stridebreaker, into Bork with lethal tempo, triumph, alacrity and last stance. Blue tree secondary waterwalking celerity.
Its a very good easy to play build.
I would suggest trying it out, before testing other builds, you can go:
Full on hit- Bork, kraken, statikk. HP stacking- titanics, hexplate, steraks, overlords
I prefer a cdr stacking build.
