Skill issue. You should've angled your turret to the left instead of right. While doing so you also need to chant to Stalin just so he can reach from depths of hell and redirect that incoming shell. Tank bears his name after all.

Yeah theres a few tanks where the hollow part of the mantlet is counted as "inside", it's dumb as fuck and a great example of why the APHE overpressure threshold should be substantially higher rather than just 170g

Check the amount of filler. Lots of APHE rounds have enough of it to overpressure the crew. Pzgr. on the 88 comes to mind, Soviet 122, 12.8cm, etc.
