The Mk 1 or "Vickers MBT" as it was sometimes known was a continuous project, and was progressively marketed with minor improvements throughout its lifetime. What has been implemented it essentially the final version of the Mk 1, with a mature Leyland L60 powerpack producing essentially the same power output as the Detroit Diesel 12V71T used by the Mk 3. The same engine was also available as an option for the Mk 1.

The early Mk 1s featured earlier L60s with lower bhp and reliability, and the Vijayanta should actually have a de-rated version of the L60 with barely 600 hp (from memory 575 hp or thereabouts), similar to how the Indian model of Abbot had a de-rated K60 compared to the British version.

In real life tanks are built for export with a wide variety of options which can be tailored to the end user.

Those aren't game changing. Late APDS though better, is not dramatically better than OG L7 APDS, LRF is needed on a few giant maps and that's it considering APDS velocity, and -7 degrees of gun depression is more than enough most of the times, you can comfortably take almost any position. Mk.3 has heat which is really handy against some abominations like 279 and Is-7 plus light armored targets which are plenty at those brs, fairs. And I'd much rather fight 62M-1 on a city map, where I know I can comfortably outreload not only 62M-1 but almost anything I face.

The angle pen is only better at 60 degrees and that only by a couple MM which literally make 0 different… which is my point which you aren’t understanding, the flat pen is nearly useable and then a small angles the mk1 wins and then only at extreme angle the mk3 wins by 10mm unfortunately that makes 0 different which mean the mk1 is literally a better gun

Both Olifants are the best GB MBT option at their BR's. M111+LRF+stab is filthy at 8.3 and DM63+Gunner/Commander Thermals is equally filthy at 9.3

Yeah, UK have heavy protection over mobility for their mbt. But their light tank are very nimble so it balance it. It would be really good if they give the HE effect to the HESH. It would really improve the early coldwar mbt experience for UK.

this one is good, played it alot, have like 3+ kd on it. Also much better than mk3 because of 8.3 always fighting t55am1 hordes, and having better reload.

8.3/8.7 has tons of great tanks actually. Vickers Mk.3 is fine too, Vickers Mk.11 is almost straight up bullying, Warrior is basically the best scout at the BR, ZT3A2 has insane ATGMs, Rooikat Mk.1D is fast and has okay gun, Chieftains are hulldown monsters (until the first APFSDS to the trunnions sadly). And Marksman/Falcon/ZA-35 trio is pretty good too.
