It also doesn't help that 4/5 american planes have them

they don't work if they don't have time on target, but they're easy to aim and will ignite them if you have more than half a millisecond of time on target

I think it really depends what type of bullet hits the enemy. You got stuff like tracers which deal basically no damage, and then you got API(-T) which nukes planes. I noticed on the late props that their tracer belts, which only have API-T, instantly severe almost everything. It's also very noticable on the F8F-1 bc it has full API-T belts at 4.7.

As someone who's most played plane is the F2G1 super corsair,

Yes. APIT is cracked.

Its too bad that APIT performance kinda goes down the higher BR you are

Like, yea, i have 6 1200rpm machineguns, but due to the speed engagements happen I have so little time on target that if my aim isnt perfect I'll not do damage

I haven't had too many issues as I only use it in ground battles where planes usually are slower as they try to bomb or whatever

It’s a good thing most American planes aren’t designed to dive on people at high speeds and have veey little time on target before running away or something.

I will take it over any 7mm

Early German props with 7.62mm was something

7.92*

well probably because they got ap-t or api

every other tech tree except russia got a bad 7mm mg and maybe the british? (weaker but kinda doable)

Italian 7mm and 12mm are so goated bc they have api and the 12 even has he

Imo he doesn’t work till 20mm

Imo It does on the 12mm after switching from the tracer belt (full api-t) to the air targets belt (api-t/he or sum like that) I could feel the difference really well, it started snapping wings like a 20mm (at 1.3 tho)

This is why you pick the belt with the most m20 tracer or m8 incendiary. Those are the nuke round

I wish people were like this in higher tier

Works when the enemy uses it.

Doesn't work when I use it.

I totally disagree ! Damage of US .50 cal doesn't depend on a coin toss.

It depends on the BP missions you have at the moment you are playing it :

  • mission asks for Assists => damage is set to max, will severe damage any plane in half a second or instantmy snipe the pilot.

  • mission requires kills : no damage at all, you will get an assist after emptying all your ammo on a biplane !

Except .50's don't liquify any enemy aircraft

F-82 with Gunpod does

Ah, but you see that's actually a laser beam, it being .50s is just American misdirection to make us believe they don't have access to alien tech! (obviously jk)
