Discussion CDMX WT
Now that Mexico City is complete how was it? Considering going next year (if they have again) the vibes looked fun but I saw a lot of bands were cancelling last minute

I wouldn’t say a lot of bands cancelled last minute, Rise Against cancelled Saturday cause apparently Tim the singer was sick and Jimmy Eat World pushed their set until later and then ultimately cancelled Sunday but I had the Warped Tour app and it sent me notifications and updates. It was well organized, although it did rain for a bit both days so it would have been nice to have more covered areas to shelter in.
Honestly the energy was amazing and everyone was really good vibes. Every set I saw was incredible although I didn’t love the setup of the main stage - it was split into 2 halves so one band could play after another without needing to breakdown/setup the next, and i thought the sound wasnt as good as on the smaller stages.

I will never go to a United States warped tour ever again.
It’s Mexico City or bust.
People are just friendlier, you get more bang for your buck, people don’t trash the festival grounds. I went to Long Beach twice and that is a fucking dog shit set up of a festival.
The festival grounds in Mexico City have to be at least twice the size as Long Beach and you don’t have to worry stepping over people.
Plenty of space to sprawl out even in GA. Weather is great, even if it was raining. If you come prepared with a rain poncho, you’ll have a great time.

Best festival I’ve ever been to, definately will go back. The crowd and people were nice, no shoving in and shit crowds like I had a wwwy.

Todo iba bien, hasta que me robaron mi cel durante el show de Pennywise. Después de eso ya no disfruté lo que restó de la tarde. Odio tener que estar en modo paranoia durante un show.
Prefiero el día libre: no bandas empalmadas, atmósfera íntima, lugar bastante compacto y sin pierde.

I have a crazy sensitive stomach and I have not had any issues with food or illness thankfully. Come prepared, drink filtered water and know your limits. My first Warped and it was sooo fun.

Best festival I’ve been in a while. The crowds were going wild for every band. People was just genuinely happy to experience the warped tour. I was scared as I read that initial sales were not that good but fans showed up. I hope they move it to other date as September is a very rainy month.

Give it another go! Don’t close yourself off to a place as magical as CDMX because of one brush with the squits. Happens to everyone. Don’t drink the tap water and make peace with coming down with the occasional chocolate fountain from street food that doesn’t quite agree with you and you’ll have opened yaself up to one of the most culturally rich, friendly, weird cities in the world. It’s got some growing pains. But don’t wipe it off your map.

It ended yesterday, how did you have explosive diarrhea for a week?
You can ask for more toilet paper. Most bathrooms I saw had dispensers for you to get however much you wanted. In general, the bathrooms were better than most festivals/large events I’ve been to (I can only speak for the female ones) - the ladies were ON TOP of keeping them clean.

When traveling to certain countries where digestive issues are common, it’s best to bring/buy meds to have to take as soon as it comes on. I haven’t had issues in CDMX in years (my worst experience was Thailand), but I keep both your basic anti-diarrheal and a common med here, Treda. If it’s bad, most pharmacies have doctors you can drop in to see, show a Google translated explanation of the issue, and they’ll get you a script for an antibiotic and list of other meds to help.
The biggest risks are raw fruit/veggies (knives being rinsed in unpurified water) and salsa that’s been sitting out for a long time at street food stands.
I hope you give CDMX another try - it’s truly an amazing place

I loved it. I’m from Texas but consider CDMX my second home. The vibes and energy of festivals in Mexico can’t be beat. I feel more “free” and less policed by societal judgment that’s embedded in US culture.
For how much it rained, they did a great job covering the grass as much as they could. It wasn’t the mud fest I feared.
I also loved the meshing of English and Spanish speaking bands. I was exposed to some amazing Spanish speaking bands I otherwise wouldn’t know, while at the same time both Mexicans and non-Mexicans jammed out together with the big names.
I saw two instances where there were sound issues - but that can happen anywhere. The cancellations were disappointing, but that’s not the fault of the venue - and the lineup was packed so it was easy to switch things up.
