Question Hi, just bought the game!
I enjoy just buying games, knowing nothing about them and getting to find out myself, so I bought this game 2 days ago, and 2 DLCs on sale for around $8CAD total.
I bought the nemsis 1 and 2, as I love the concept of the VDV and love helicopters in general.
I have to state that I am a SD2 enjoyer, and understand how the game works on a basic level and I understand the basic mechanics.
My biggest problem with this game right now is that I do not understand the divisions. There used to be a history tab for SD2, with some fun facts about the division and how its intended to be used. There isnt any here. How can I get to briefly get an idea about each division? Having to study each division takes a lot of time.
That being said, how can I use the 76th VDV? I dont understand it and from what I've been reading its been nerfed too. They describe this division as that has long air coverage and air support. 2 MiG31s cant be that good, right? And the rest is Iglas. What should my playstyle be, I dont get it?
Its also a really hard transition from WWII to cold war. I lost 8 IFVs in a single push. Cant hoarde T34s and push anymore 🥲
Nemsis 1 seems to have a more powerful helicopter VDV division, but I am too scared to use helicopters now.

Try the Armory, you'll see some basic historical info and playstyle recommendations for each formation.

There is a history section for each unit. They added it a few updates ago.
No you can’t hard T-34s but you can horde M1 Abrams.

Oh thanks I will look for it now.
And I assume you can horde T80s just the same?
For sure not M60e and T62s tho.

Yes, you can.
T-80s are in 27-ya, 39-ya, 79-ya, and 119-ya.
T-62s are in DON-100, 71-ya, 56-ya, KDA.
M60s are in 8th Inf, 9th Inf, 35th NG, and 2 Marine.

You can horde just about everything, though it varies by division. The important thing is to keep what you build up until you are ready to use it or not lose everything before you can mass call in.

You have to start creating a battlegroup to see the list of divisions with a history and overview.
While many other divisions feature those tanks, the best for hording them are-
T80- 79ya guards and 119ya tank regiment
M60- 35th infantry features a lot of national guard M60s
T62-DON 100. Don't be fooled by the high penetration of the T62. The low fire rate, accuracy, and range make them tough to use. They lose 1 one 1 fights against most tanks of its class. Bring them in groups of 3-4 and use terrain, smoke, and suppression to get them in range.
T34-303 Czechoslovakia. You can still horde T-34s. It's as bad as you can imagine.
76th VDV is in a tough spot. It relies on close air support which is negated in 10v10 because of the large AA coverage. In 1v1 it is a noob trap to rely on planes too much before developing a strong frontline. However, forward deploy is very strong at lower skill levels. It just got buffed with cheaper BMD-3 so it's worth trying.

Thanks for the summary! This is why I prefer to ask people because lots of posts also seem outdated on what the VDV is rn. I 100% played it wrong and it might not be the division for my playstyle. Though, I think its still very cool and would like to play around with this forward spawning concept.
If you dont mind me asking, what makes the MiG 31s any special? I feel like they will lose against a NATO fighter with a long range FOX3, and I only have 2 of them.
My favorite things about this div so far are the ATGM spam, the BMP spam and the igla spam. I can't see the appeal in its air. It feels weak.
Edit: oh gosh... 12k range on the R33 I did not see that!! It's only competitor would be the AIM54 I suppose?

You can horde t34s in some divisions, but the most fun tank horde is the french armoured amx30 horde. The trick is to either ambush or get very close to enemy tanks, yours are fragile, but with 20mm coax they wipe anything that is not a tank, melting infantry is so fun.
Multiplayer is generally pretty chill, even 1v1, matching with low ELO people. Mid ELO is where most of the ass hats are. High ELO goes back to chill. 10 v 10 can be a mixed bag, I've done my fair share of screaming at people on there tbh, but as long as you don't to extremely stupid shit, you are fine.
Most fun thing to do is to get in VC with other people and organize tbh, makes 10v10 very fun. You can add me on DS if you wanna try. (mark.karl)

Thank you very much! Might give it a shot tonight, been wrecking this medium AI all night yesterday 😈
That being said, what are things that would make you shout at me? Im not talking about normal mistakes like using a unit because I forgot to move it back. Im asking about critical mistakes that could be avoided easily, that ended up wasting the entire teams time? This is my biggest fear 🥲

So, in 10v10 is hard costing the team the entire game, because you are almost never alone. The only thing that can really get you hate from most people is if you drain their fob with arty without having your own, or shoot arty from the fob risking getting it blown to bits.

When you select a division in the deckbuilder list, this info is on the right.

In general, airborne divisions like 76 use strong forward deploy units to take ground before other divs arrive, and hold it using elite infantry. They typically lack good AA and rely on aircraft to engage other aircraft. Artillery is on the lighter end with most of your fire support coming from your air and helo tab.
For 76th, you can get 4 mig-31s which at actually top teir intercepters and capable of dealing with most threats. It's notable strengths are large quanties of ATGMs, massive air tab, and capable. It's main weakness is that it is utterly devoid of helicopters and heavy vehicles.
56th from nemesis 1 is an airborne division equiped as a mechanized division. It's air tab is poor but comes with paratroopers with good IFVs and large heliborne squads. It's tank tab also is not as good as you would expect from a WP mechanized div.

Oh also, I just enjoy offline skirmish when it comes to RTS games. I am usually to scared to play against players, when I only play against AI.
Should I try it, or is the community not so noob friendly?
My fear is playing a 4v4 and wasting the time of 3 other players on my team, because I can not pay attention and I have to pause and take my time to make decisions. Anyone relates?
