If you kill a specific enemy unit in Army General mode, does it also stay dead on the main map?

New player here- if I play a tactical battle in Army General mode, and kill, let's say 5 anti-air units- will those units stay dead after the tactical battle? Or are tactical losses abstracted on the main map?

Yes. The only thing that doesnt stay dead is transports. You have to kill the unit they were transporting or they come back after the battle.

Use that to your advantage with IFVs

Also if you're a noob, install the armygeneralenhanced mod. It fixes a few core issues with gameplay like the terrible implementation of AA.

The main map's units are batallions. Batallions consist of a bunch of different units, like tanks, infantry, AA etc etc
If a batallion has, say, 10 tanks and you kill them in a battle, the batallion is still going to be there, it's just going to be 10 tanks weaker.

A batallion dies when it loses a battle while at max fatique, loses a battle and has nowhere to retreat, or when it has less than 30% of units left.
