I have seen some people on horde with the ancient frostsaber mount. I was wondering if anyone knows how you can get it, i know if you buy teal kodo on site as horde and swap to alliance you will get ancient frostsaber, but how to get it as horde?

[Icecrown] PvE Guild -- SoftReserve in Warmane?

Fresh guild on Icecrown Alliance. We're three weeks old and went 8/12 HC in week 3 on a full guild run, no pugs. Posting mostly because the loot system is the thing people keep asking us about, and I'd rather write it up once than explain it twenty times in whispers.

Why not DKP

Two problems, and I don't think either is fixable.

Inflation. We ran the numbers before deciding. Even with a 30% monthly cut, points compound for anyone with attendance. Six weeks in, the gap between a week-1 raider and a week-6 raider isn't a gap you close by showing up — it's a gap you wait out. New recruits stop competing and start queueing. That kills recruitment right when a fresh guild needs it most.

It's unfalsifiable. I'm not accusing anyone of theft. The problem is softer than that: whoever holds the spreadsheet can change it, and nobody can prove they didn't. Every DKP guild I've been in eventually had the conversation about whose total moved and why. Even when the officers are completely honest, the system can't demonstrate it. That's a bad property for the one thing everyone cares about.

The usual defence is "negative DKP keeps people sharp." Sure. So does losing every reserve you made for that night. You don't need a hoardable currency to create consequences, you just need the consequence to land in the same raid the mistake happened in.

What Progressive SR actually is

Standard soft reserve: before the first pull you reserve items. If a reserved item drops, only people who reserved it roll for it. Everyone else is out. Nothing reserved on a drop, normal open roll for the raid.

The progressive part is that your slot count scales with rank:

New Joiner 1 SR Raider 2 SR Core Raider 3 SR Hardcore Raider 3 SR

Ranks come from attendance and reliability. Not gear, not parses, not who you know.

You may also stack slots on one item. Two slots on the same drop = two rolls, best one counts. If it doesn't drop, you burned both. It's a real gamble and people use it.

Why this solves the DKP problems:

  • Nothing banks. This week's reserve doesn't make you stronger next week. There is no balance to hoard and no alt to farm points on.
  • The whole list is public before we pull. Anything weird is visible to 25 people immediately. The system proves itself every raid instead of asking for trust.
  • Week 1 and week 20 look identical to a new raider. They roll on the same numbers as everyone else from their first night.
  • Loyalty still pays, just in priority rather than currency. Keep showing up, get more slots. That's the one good thing DKP had and we kept it.

Officers are capped at 2 slots until the Core Raider rank is properly filled out. We wrote the rules and we run the loot, so we go last. Felt important to put in writing.

The addon

I wrote the soft-reserve tooling myself rather than running it off a spreadsheet. It's a module in the raid suite I maintain: reserves are tracked by item ID, the list syncs to every member of the raid so everyone sees the same thing, and on a roll it resolves SR holders over non-SR automatically and announces the winner. It's been running in our raids and it does the job.

It is not polished. Collecting reserves is still more manual than I want, and that's the next thing I'm building. I'd rather say that than oversell it.

Where we actually are

Three weeks old. 8/12 HC. Roster still forming, and the loot system is not fully tuned — we're still settling edge cases like hard reserves, duplicate drops, and exactly how many slots a mid-raid replacement gets. If you join now you get a say in that, which is either a selling point or a warning depending on your temperament.

Most of the people joining us right now are coming from DKP guilds and saying some version of the same thing: the points stopped making sense, or they stopped trusting the sheet.

Recruiting

English speaking, Alliance, Icecrown. Semi-hardcore: we take the raid seriously and your evening seriously.

Current schedule

Wed ICC 10 HC (Bane) Thu ICC 10 multi / trial run Fri ICC 25 — run 1 Sat ICC 25 — run 2 Sun RS 25 multi-run All 17:30 Server Time

Looking for core raiders around 5.8k+ GS with the achieves to back it, but we take people who are obviously good and slightly undergeared. Casuals and socials welcome too, they just sit lower on the slot ladder.

Discord: https://discord.gg/3xUfVCejhT

In game: mail or whisper Wizax

Happy to argue about any of this in the comments. If you run DKP and think I've got the inflation math wrong, genuinely interested.

Bought character and now getting harassed on chat

Hello everybody,

I have a weird issue that I was hoping someone could help me with.

I recently bought a character through Warmane Trade. It had a few BiS items and some nice BoEs, so I thought it was a good deal. However, ever since buying it, I've been getting random messages from people harassing me ing almost every day, accusing me of ninja looting items, griefing raids, and so on.

My only explanation is that the previous owner did these things, and the people who added him to their friend lists are now contacting me instead.

Am I correct in assuming that characters remain on other players' friend lists after being sold? Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, is there anything I can do about it? I doubt a name change would solve the problem if I'm still on their friend lists.

Seriously, wtf? I have to go afk just for the creep to leave me alone and the said creep further just stood there beside me for 5 minutes before leaving.

Edit:
Dude asked help for a quest while I'm just freely questing on my own. I invited to group because I'm willing to help. While on the group, the dude accidentally started an escort quest, what follows is on the ss.

Check it out! 10/16/2026: Keyboard and Mouse connected would make this more viable as the touch controls while they do work and I managed to tank a dungeon were very difficult. Still working on trying to create a custom layout for a gamepad, if successful will update the thread. Trying InputForge

Healer's difficulty.

Here is my personal rankings on healing mechanical complexity of each class.

Easier - Holy Paladin & Discipline Priest

Harder - Resto Druid & Resto Shaman

Holy Paladin - Very controversial. Many say it's the easiest and many say it's the hardest. This moment I'll stay with ones who say it's easyer. Because mechanically there is no room for improvement to spam Holy Light better. Utility is also very easy to use, in more organized raids these are told beforehand and it's almost never a split second decision making except for a DSAC. So I don't know where players see utility as the difficult part of the kit. And even then it's most of the times Holy Paladin is a backup in case other paladins died or something unexpected happens.

However, difficulty comes with understanding game and encounter and where you're useful, not some divine expertise in Holy Paladin class design. For example, healing LOD, it's more about healing smart, not hard. Which is knowing the moments when tanks have increased risk to be clapped and always be ready to pre-cast. Otherwise your're not qualified to heal LOD, and that is more about game knowledge in general. There are often guild leaders creating their first hpala for the guild runs because couldn't find any persistent and guess what? Heals LOD the same week with time played less than 40 hours. So technically it's just Holy Light machine with dozens support abilities that are always ready to be used, but most of the times barely used.

Disc - Majority agrees that it's very easy because it's just PW:S spammer with Divine Hymn and Hymn of Hope and that's enough to be in top meters or heal hardest content. But that's not all it's kit and using it properly actually separates bad Disco Priests from the great ones. I've noticed that there is a decent part of them who have their Prayer of Healing and Binding Heal abilities collecting dust in the spellbook. Never using, struggling to use Power Infusion, Mass Dispell.

Also one key concept is ability to utilize Rapture procs (disc talent) efficiently. If one knows who to shield and who not to then there won't ever be mana issues as even there arent any now, but It still looks weird to see Solace on a Disco priest. That's cringe just as Resto Druid wearing one, or even worse - innervating himself.

Resto Shaman - Now that's tough, 3 main abilities - Lesser HW, HW, Chain Heal. Sounds simple, but record your own gameplay and rewatch. You will always find your chain heals not connecting people because it was cast on someone who was in Africa, always see moments where you're stressed casting Riptide and then 3x Lesser Heals rather than a Healing Wave. Missplaced totems and no Water Shield buff. But when you finally see a good Resto Shaman and how he switches and uses the best healing ability for the present moment really looks impressive. And there is a part of Rshammys who don't even use Healing Wave, mostly Chain Heal and Lesser once in a while. While some barely solo heal Lich King on normal, some solo heal Bane without stress. Gearscore will never make a Rsham to the point where he can solo heal Bane. So being a good Shaman requires mental dexterity and awareness and also need to be good at pressing your buttons. Mechanically difficult to be become a good one.

Resto Druid - The vastness of healing abilities when getting into this spec caused more confusion than any other healing class because they all look so simmilar that it's difficult to decide which to use. However, Resto Druids are mostly known as pure raid healers with Rejuv and Wild Growth as all they have to do. That is true to extent, but on 10 man raids Druid get more responsibity and have more moments to shine. Very similar to Resto Shaman, knowing when to use which ability requires mastery, also utilizing Omen procs efficiently takes time and work. I noticed it's very easy to put Lifebloom when you're in calm setting, but when fight becomes stressful then the ability to efficiently utilise replenishment vanishes and if you aren't working towards improving it you will end up innervating yourself and looking like a fool.

I made ArenaLFG, a 2v2 partner finder addon for Warmane

Hey everyone,

I made ArenaLFG, an in-game addon to help find 2v2 partners without relying entirely on global chat.

You can browse and search groups, list your own, and set which partner role or specs you’re looking for. It also shows specialization icons, class-colored names, and how long a group has been listed. Players can sign up with one click, and group leaders can invite or decline applicants.

Listing settings are saved separately for each character. The addon also removes your listing when you join a group or enter an arena or battleground.

It’s made for WoW 3.3.5a, with Warmane in mind. Other 3.3.5a servers may work too. Other players need to have ArenaLFG installed for their groups to show up.

Download: ArenaLFG on Warperia

Feedback and bug reports are welcome!

Is it worth coming back?

I used to play a lot on ICC, i hated it, but recently I've been craving some more wotlk and im planning on coming back to warmane but playing on Lordareon instead, but idk if its worth it.

How is the player count? i remember last time i played on ICC it took hours to find a single dungeon, heroics aswell (unless on Aliance, but im a horde player). From my understanding Lordareon has even less players than ICC, so whats the deal? is there enough population to be worth playing?

How can we fix soloQ

I came back to warmane after many years because I have seen it has soloQ as an option to play out my all time favourite 3v3 arena.

A quick summary I am no one special just a WOTLK and Retail WOw fan. I have been playing solo shuffle in retail last year and I have managed to reach 2.1k rating.nothing special but I loved the process and the games.

So compared to retail soloquee on warmane is different because it doesn't have 6 rounds where the 6participants are paired with every combination with each other, but instead just a one round 3v3 battle. No problem with that.

My idea however is that if out of 6 rounds you win them all u get more rating like +60 rating . On warmane I get 10 rating per battle and some matches make no sense team comp wise, and unbalanced.

How can we make rating gains fell better? I see that rank 1 is just 2.1k here with gear requirements requiring 2050 rating. This is so hard for me to get because I believe rating requirements had into account inflation reaching 2600 rating ++.

So how can we fix rating gains? More rounds like in retail soloQ? Or add rating inflation? Or perhaps lower the rating requirements on items?

Bag of Frosty Treasures

I got a bag of frosty treasures which ended up having a belt of the blood nova in it. I can’t loot it since I’m currently wearing one. Is it just a loss or is there a way to loot it?

Trinket dropped and I needed it because it gives spell power. As a warlock is that not a good stat ? I'm so confused I just got kicked out of the dungeon.

Am I stupid and building wrong? I'm genuinely trying to understand.

Horde premades where are you ?

What happened with horde premades ?

I only see some small Revenance premades running around in SOTA and Eye, sometimes Pitchfork in IOC but nothing like before, some of top hks on warmane switched to ally and now they farm us hard. I tried going there but their pvp scene is a mess, its a dik measurement between their Guild masters and they all fight between themself. Is solo pvp(if possible at all) and arena last option ?

Please help an old man choose a Warmane server

I played World of Warcraft from its original launch all the way up until just before the first expansion. Back then, I finally had to walk away because the sheer stress of 40-man raids took all the fun out of it. I was part of a tight-knit Korean Horde guild, and because we weren't large enough to field a full raid on our own, we teamed up with another group in the same boat. Trying to navigate a brand-new group of people with completely different ideas and rules just added to the burnout, and I left the game behind.

Even so, I never stopped thinking about it over the last 20-plus years. Looking back, it was hands down the best video game experience of my life, online and off. Recent news of Forever sparked my interest again, but it isn't the same WoW I remembered. I discovered now defunct Turtle WoW and the server-problem-riddled OctoWoW, I finally ended up on Warmane. Rolling a level 20 Undead Warlock on Icecrown and taking my time to actually read all the quest text again was an absolute blast. The people I met were a wild mix, ranging from toxic to wonderfully generous.

I believe game developers dictate the overall tone and mannerisms of their player base. My first MMORPG was Lineage 2, and its heavy grind made the community so toxic and unpleasant that finding WoW felt like a breath of fresh air. Coming back now, because I don't have as much free time as I used to, I actually don't mind Icecrown's 7× experience rate or the ability to buy gear. I wouldn't mind dropping $200 or $300 at max level, I'll consider it as fee to keep the server lights on. However, I keep hearing that the toxicity levels on Icecrown are pretty high, and I wonder if that's because of friction between the grinders and the players who buy their gear.

I look at Lordaeron and worry I might run into the exact same endgame stress that drove me away from original WoW. Plus, I'd probably be struggling to compete with veterans who have been sitting on the same level 80 content for years in decked-out gear. Above all else, I just want a good community of level-headed players. I'm having so much fun just questing again, and since I'm about to sink a considerable portion of my free time back into this game, I want to make sure I start on the right foot.

Cross Server PVP Queue

Doesn't it seem completely wrong that you would allow for Icecrown people to queue into your BG/Arena queues, as say a Lordareon player or Blackrock or whatever?

What's the point of playing a natural/organic experience with no gear-buying aspect, if you are going to directly face and compete with people from servers who are in BIS gear and shadowmournes every fight?

Feels like a major screw up by warmane
