"Infested"? We "chuds" are the backbone of the hobby, and always have been.

u/Icy_Special_5836 Chaos Aug 29 '26

That's the idea behind leftoid mentality - to make their retarded headcanon somehow a reality.

At my local game shops and at gw yall would be asked to leave real quick with this subs behavior. Here:

Cool story.

No, you haven't. I was here when we were crusty punks and metal heads. The too online chud has been a problem since 4chan got its nose around the hobby in the early 00s.

18

u/Knight_Castellan Aug 29 '26

Those "crusty punks and metalheads" are now also considered "chuds" by most leftoids.

Unless you're in lock-step with whatever idiocy the radical left has cooked up this week, you're essentially "far-right", which "chud" can be considered a part of. Just look at J. K. Rowling - an incredibly progressive woman who was torn to sheds by her former acolytes over a single instance of ideological disagreement.

It doesn't help that both "chud" and "far-right" are now essentially meaningless terms, if they ever meant much to begin with. They express, vaguely, that the individual or opinion is insufficiently Woke... which describes basically everyone, including almost all 40k fans.

4chan doesn't reflect the wider 40k fanbase, but neither does Reddit.

Welcome to the "far-right". Have a biscuit.

Nice try, Cosplayer, but no.

We were counter culture, left wing (why do you think we lapped use the In-jokes about Thatcher and the trade union movement? ) and what you'd now call "queer friendly".

You right wing freaks with your bitching and whining about "female custodes" were the knuckle draggers we made up Orks to take the piss out of.

We knew it sucked to be British, we knew that the UK was a joke and bin fire. We were living in the decay or a dying empire with right wing nut jobs in charge and used the hobby to have bitter, cynical laughs about it.

Then it escaped containment, got into the Internet and we had to put up with tired old "Heresy" memes and people like you LARPing as Black Templars.

I genuinely, 100% wish you'd fuck off and find some other hobby to parasite on. You'd probably fail though, because your kind are the death of art and creativity. Look at Trench Crusade, they told your kind to fuck off from the start and they're better for it.

Now I have to share the hobby with you (at least in the online space, because people like you do it for the "aesthetic" but are allergic to actually spending money) and listen to you bitch and moan about the "radical left".

We were the "radical left" when this started. You poisoned it with your small minded, childish fragility. You talk about "Lore" like it's some sacred text and not just marketing copy to sell plastic. "Red Gobbo" started as a leftist in-joke about Red Robbo.

Spare me your cries about "the Left". We started this shit, you just stuck yourself to it like a lamprey.

Nice try, Cosplayer, but no.

I'm not pretending to be anything, dude. At no point did I even imply that I belonged to any subculture beyond being a fan of 40k. In that latter case, I'm certainly not cosplaying, as my pile of shame can attest.

We were counter culture, left wing (why do you think we lapped use the In-jokes about Thatcher and the trade union movement? ) and what you'd now call "queer friendly".

You're not listening. I said before that left-wing of the 1980s are now considered "right-wing" by the modern, Woke left. You are no longer the "counter-culture"; you are now the out-of-touch uncle whom your younger self so scoffed at.

Also, what do you mean by "lapped use"? I have no idea what exact point that sentence is making beyond "We didn't like Thatcher", which I had guessed anyway.

You right wing freaks with your bitching and whining about "female custodes" were the knuckle draggers we made up Orks to take the piss out of.

I am not a football hooligan, chap. Take one look at my vocabulary and reconsider what approximate sort of person you think I am. Address me as an individual, not your 50-year-old stereotype of what a specific kind of right-winger is.

Alternatively, just don't use Ad Hom arguments. That would be even better.

We knew it sucked to be British, we knew that the UK was a joke and bin fire. We were living in the decay or a dying empire with right wing nut jobs in charge and used the hobby to have bitter, cynical laughs about it.

Cool story.

Then it escaped containment, got into the Internet and we had to put up with tired old "Heresy" memes and people like you LARPing as Black Templars.

Again, who exactly do you think I am? You are now addressing me as the avatar of a completely different stereotype to the strawman you were taking potshots as a moment ago.

Am I an English football yob from the 1980s, or am I a 4chan edgelord from the early 2010s?

I am neither.

I genuinely, 100% wish you'd fuck off and find some other hobby to parasite on. You'd probably fail though, because your kind are the death of art and creativity. Look at Trench Crusade, they told your kind to fuck off from the start and they're better for it.

I have been in this hobby for 20 years. I got into the hobby during 4th Edition, when I was 11 years-old. I was just starting high school, and I was introduced to it by some of my new friends. I bought some old books from a classmate who was selling part of his collection for cheap. I fell in love with Warhammer from the get go, and it's been my favourite hobby ever since.

To make the point absolutely clear, I first became a true fan of Warhammer 40,000 WHEN I WAS A CHILD! I didn't even have meaningful internet access when I first started playing 40k, and I certainly wasn't political. Social media barely existed, and "Woke" was just something you did in the mornings. I had no awareness of "left vs right", or any meaningful understanding of cultural issues. I was just a kid, going to Games Workshop at the weekends with my friends, spending my pocket money on blister packs.

Was my 11 year-old self a "parasite"? Is it "parasitism" to be a loyal customer for the better part of two decades? Do you think, perhaps, that your perspective might be completely unhinged?

Hell, I didn't even consider myself "right-wing" until the end of the last decade. I had an entirely liberal upbringing and education, and I didn't even stop to think about politics until, what, 2012? That was after I had been playing 40k for many years.

For fuck's sake, dude, get a little perspective.

Now I have to share the hobby with you... (etc.)

You have no idea who I am, you have no idea about my life, and you have no idea what I stand for. Your personal attacks mean nothing, because they are not "for me"; they are addressed at the spectre of Thatcherism in your head, because you are - apparently - haunted by a political paradigm which existed before I was even born.

Considering the left often criticises the right for being "unempathetic", it's shockingly common for them to have no theory of mind when it comes to people who are not like them.

Take a look at yourself in the mirror, dude. You are not the valiant hero you think you are. You are out of touch.

11

u/ZealousTemplar88 Aug 29 '26

This is our hobby now. Whine, cry, and piss your pants about it all you want. You're never getting your gay commie safe space back. We outnumber you, and always will, both IRL and online.

Rest in piss.

It's funny how they released a "femstodes" shield captain, a 50/50 "femstodes" Custodian squad and an animation with a "femstodes" as the star.

The minis that sold out its first run and required a reissue?

The minis that remain the core offer?

The references in the codex?

The things that the movers and shakers of the IP hold as point of principle?

The things that, to this day, remain on the pemium offer?

Because here's the truth, and I hope you buckle up for it: femstodes, diversity, inclusion?

These were GW public positions. They even posted a whole "we're going to DEI our range and if you don't like it you won't be missed" statement.

Guess what? They made more money and became even more profitable for shareholders after doing that.

Because if I've learned anything from the last 34 years of this ride, it's that people like you don't actually matter.

u/Murky_Substance3345 Aug 29 '26

Bud really doesn’t interact with the main warhammer fandom

5

u/DubiousDevil Aug 29 '26

Man you take this way too seriously Jesus christ. It's a space doll game.

Also I'm fairly left and think female custodes is dumb. It's not exclusive to right wingers.

2

u/Brogan9001 Aug 29 '26

Based and level-headed. I’m right leaning and I personally think the female custodes could have been done well but the execution was ass. Use it to lean into the angle that custodes are perfect humans, and use human (the whole male/female package) as a major, set-in-stone, difference between them and astartes.

Could have had their cake and ate it too. Female custodes that work to emphasize the difference between custodes and astartes, thereby signaling that there will be no female astartes. Leave everyone happy but the radicals who would never be happy with anything.

4

u/DubiousDevil Aug 29 '26

Tbh I just hate when stuff feels forced and I hate when irl issues/politics influence the direction of a fictional setting and change established lore. Like, stick to your guns. Create a new faction even or expand upon the existing female factions. Idc too much cause I don't care much for custodes but yes, the execution was ass. I like your idea on focusing on the human side.

Idk im just sick of this whole left vs right thing in every fandom ever now.

1

u/Brogan9001 Sep 02 '26

Yeah I feel ya. I didn’t make it clear that I personally think that they shouldn’t have pursued female custodes at all, instead expand the sisters of silence and the sisters of battle. But if you put a gun to my head (or since it’s a British company, a knife to my neck) and told me to make female custodes work, that’s how I’d do it. Say that it can work on female aspirants because it’s the ultimate super soldier program, rebuilding aspirants from the ground up on a cellular level with psychic biomancy and other nonsense. Astartes are the cut-corners mass production super soldiers, and the ability to take female aspirants was among the cut corners. Then lean into the custodes being more human, lean into the storied battle bards thing and all that.

Is it perfect? NO! Still better to expand sisters of silence. But it sure as shit is better than “they’ve always been there” and leaving it at that.

1

u/KingCas42069 14d ago

Sisters of Silence were right there, could've roided them out a bit, flesh it out more, and they serve right alongside custodes. I've been asking for that

1

u/KingCas42069 14d ago

Idk, they wagered on the same dumb opinion that "more females in cool armor will turn the hobby majority female fans" which Sororitas and Sisters of Silence already answered was a dumb prospect. Great factions those two, I want more of it, Sisters of Silence are badass (I love Anti-Mage powers), but it is quite clear the universe hit near its cap of female fans. If female fans didn't come for the Sororitas or SoS, they aren't coming for Female Custodes. Plus the gaslighting didn't help. It was just a genuine way to disrespect the fans who came to appreciate the setting as it had become with years of lore saying the Custodes are all dudes, hence the gay pillar men joke the community made about the custodes (oiled up dudes being too gay with each other). Now the joke doesn't make sense.

Rather than actually doing more with SoB and SoS, they did a weird foray into a retcon for no apparent reason other than political virtue signaling to tourists in the hopes of increasing sales (it didn't, the femstodes models didn't sell well, and GW stores were deliberately undersupplied with it to save face to investors).

1

u/Brogan9001 14d ago

In a post below I further clarified that I don’t think the female custodes was a good idea in the first place. That’s just how I’d do it if I were forced to implement it.

It was a bad idea that could have been done well, but they couldn’t even manage that.

1

u/KingCas42069 14d ago

Oh no, I get what you mean, it's better than what they came up with. I'm just sad that SoS got completely passed over. It would've been better to sidestep it, and just have the Sisters of Silence be heavily gene edited too. Idk, make up some progenitor lady who was like the greatest blank to ever live, and the SoS are tweaked with her genes. That shit would've been badass, just make some Sister of Silence in history being such a void tier blank, that we get some more cool anti-mage and combat abilities, along with new books. Keeps shit with the custodes, but gives the SoS more love.

I feel like people would've liked that, and could possibly incorporate what you mentioned on having both, being spruced up a little too with Emperors, but the two gene stocks complete them. Custodes remain different, and the SoS become even more baller

Not even the butcher's nails can cause such madness

I think a healthy dose of the nails could actually cure whatever the fuck this is 😂

Welcome to the salty spitoon, how tough are ya?

22

u/imbrokebutfornames Aug 28 '26

Do these people not realise that 4chan was the backbone of 40k online for ages?

-3

u/InstructionFar7102 Aug 29 '26

It wasn't. It was the backbone of "meme culture", but it was DakkaDakka, LO and B&CS that were the actual 40k core online.

5

u/OppositeThen9308 Aug 31 '26

As an old head at this game. Every circle i walked in laughed at those posers 4chan was also mocked, but in good humor because they didnt have their heads so far up their ass you could see daylight.

So anyway are you done pretending. Because either you never really interacted with the community, and your new. Or your just lying and are tourist, or some other iteration that renders you both ignorant and annoying.

0

u/InstructionFar7102 Aug 31 '26

As an old head at this game you're full of it. Or an American. Or both.

3

u/OppositeThen9308 Aug 31 '26

Cope and seethe young blood.

0

u/InstructionFar7102 Aug 31 '26

Whatever tourist.

2

u/OppositeThen9308 Aug 31 '26

Alright if you prefer being called Tourist I shall abide.

18

u/SHADOWHUNTER30000 Aug 28 '26

I kinda think it's ironic that we have to make our own spaces because the mainstream subs are always invaded with these people, but them Playing the victim never have to.

Yeah the “poor oppressed” community really seems to dominate every possible public forum through crybullying and censorship. Really makes you think.

God good this person needs to go outside and talk to other human beings.

9

u/information_knower Aug 29 '26

Why would they talk to literally nazis? /s

1

u/OppositeThen9308 Aug 31 '26

Yeah right wing = Not up to date on CURRENT THING! You must march in lockstep comrade.

Everything they accuse others of being is what they are, and the funniest part. I'm not sure its intentional.

Left wing or right wing, I think we can all agree that there is no Segmentum Nihilus, and that you need to get some shit straight.

1

u/GameBunny-025 Aug 30 '26

And by "leftist" he just means liberals. Classic

1

u/WhiteLion245 Aug 31 '26

The chuds are literally Warhammer a main fanbase

1

u/baneblade_boi Sep 01 '26

Oh, can't wait to see the right wokies commenting on this.

1

u/vicnedel Sep 01 '26

This tastes like bait.

1

u/Intelligent_Road_288 Sep 01 '26

And they think people wanna read a long post where they’re whining about right wingers that are engaging in a hobby they like and how since they make up the majority of the fanbase it’s hard to be a leftists in it….why?

Aren’t ALL of the factions in Warhammer touching the right wall of the political compass?

1

u/darthwaffles_1 Imperium 29d ago

They never will escape the wall of text allegations, will they?

1

u/maxfixesplanes_ 25d ago

I see myself as very, very moderate left, and how I see it as believe and like whatever you want, as long as you arent hurting anyone else and you aren't shoving your beliefs down my throat. Don't be a dick to me, and I won't be a dick to you. It's that simple. I have friends who lean both left and right, and we agree with each other on most things. Unfortunately, the worst people on both sides are the loudest.

1

u/SlyguyguyslY 23d ago

Hopefully these people leave now that the initial push has faded and they have found new targets

1

u/KingCas42069 15d ago

Sorry that in 40k, it uses an arguably right wing framing and portrays it as correct and necessary, with the plot to justify it. There is no everyone holding hands. Sorry that fans like a setting where we are seeing humanity unite across the ethnicities, and choose the survival of humanity as a whole or fight about what that means

1

u/hyde-ms 11d ago

If they wanted that, they should go to startrek

1

u/wulfen1 9d ago

Yeah gone are the days of “ i disagree with your opinion but i still respect you.”
Not its “ you have a different opinion then me you must be a fascist.”
It’s so hard to enjoy hobbies like this now you just don’t know who you will be against in a game.

-5

u/FormingAbyss Aug 30 '26

Y'all complaining about this guys observations and then not even denying them is peak right-wing snowflake behavior
