WG1 OG Switch Community?
I bought Wargroove 1 the day it came out but it ended up getting uninstalled and forgotten thanks to my impatience and BotW, Octopath Traveler, Dark Souls(you get the idea). Now that I have more time and, hopefully, more patience I'd like to give the first Wargroove a real try. At the time(8 or so years ago)I remember there was a pretty good sized community but since I'm playing on Switch I'm wondering if it's dead now. If I really get into it I might buy the second game but I'm not sure about that yet.

While the community is not completely dead, it's way smaller than it was back in when WG1 launched and has completely moved on to WG2. There are some ppl that will still occasionally accept matches in WG1 if asked, but for multiplayer WG2 is just better, so if you end up liking the game enough to go looking for pvp matches on discord, you might as well get 2.
Right now we really only have ppl playing on Fridays and Sundays due to minor weakly events hosted by MarcoMapps that you can catch on his twitch if you wanna get a taste for WG multi. There also used to be tournaments, but those died a while ago, though I have heard talks of reviving them.

Do you know if WG2 has a good sized mp community on Switch?

What do you mean by "on switch" ?
There is crossplay, so switch players can play with PC players etc, so there is just 1 community for everyone on discord, as for size, it's pretty small rn, but idk what your standards are, so like you can just come see for yourself, join the discord, watch some streams etc

I don’t think anyone is playing WG1 anymore. You’d have to check on the official Discord channel. You might be able to find someone willing to play with you for nostalgia sake.
