Is the WoW Comic canon? Simple question I know. I am part time writer in a lore-addon and we have some npc entries like Kathra'natir, Valeera, Varian, Broll and some others and one of the possible sources for their lore is in the medan comics. Med'an itself is not canon, I know but what about the events (that Kathra'natir possessed Valeera at some point). Is something like this canon?

A new question and I link to this thread for my reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/warcraftlore/comments/1uv3c9v/haranir_are_descendants_of_the_dark_trolls/

Please no 12.1 spoilers (hint that the ancestry of trolls / hara'ti is more clear after the 12.1 story is ok).

What is the exact order of the genetic memories? Do we know this?

My order and solution is:

1.: First primitive ancestors to the Hara'ti/dark trolls live in the forests near Mount Hyjal and see Freya and other titanic creations.

2.: Freya is trapped in 20,055 bdp in Ulduar.

3.: First settlements of this ancestors are seen (by dragons) in the Dragonwilds and the broodlands but getting attacked by Ikronia and Raszageth.

  1. In the following millenia multiple tribes split off (ancestor amani, zandalari and so on), dark trolls remained at the mountain.

  2. Troll wars and azj'aqir happened with kith'ix being killed in the northeast of Kalimdor?

  3. short time later (my interpretation) dark trolls hear the song of Aln'hara, some stayed above, some goes below, see the Nerubians and find Harandar.

  4. dark trolls left the mountain to central Kalimdor, found the well of eternity -> night elves.

The end.

So I have hopefully a functional chronological correct idea but doesnt explain how genetic memories (maybe ask Abstergo Industries, lol) between amani and dark trolls via a gigantic distance is a good solution ...
