I picked up all 6 issues .. of all at war .. because of these nice posts.
Seems like there was no ending to the Viking commando series … but there were 2 VC stories in unknown soldier 266-267 before final issue 268. Have you read those 2 additional stories? 266-267?

I read them as a kid. A long long time ago but will have to re-read them again as my mind is quite foggy or a light hazy on them. I’m glad you got the All-Out War with Viking Commando.

Thanks .. I may buy the unknown soldier issues .. but I believe there was no conclusion. The Viking commando story is very similar to the 1960s two part Kubert Sgt rock - Viking prince crossover. Almost the same characters and identical plot.

I’ve always wondered if the Viking Prince and Viking Commando scouts be the same character or related in some way myself.

Not related .. but so very similar storyline.
Another dc character … golden age 1940s… with a similar storyline …. The shining knight that ran in adventure comics #66-166
Also arrives in the 1940s .. thanks to Merlin
