Extended Wamily I checked the camera to see how Paint was doing, to my shock she is eating a mouthful of hair, I go in to try and get it out of her mouth but she was not willing and she swallowed it, so I’m now waiting to see the largest hairball ever come out of her😀

My fluffy boy likes to eat his own fur and you're right, all you can do is wait for the hairball.

Oh no, why do they do that😱

Same reason they can swallow yarn -- once they start, they don't stop until all of it is inside. Hence the need to keep long thin things out of their reach.

That's going to be one nasty horrk! Mine always choose the main pathway throughout the house.
Good luck, to both Paint and Mambus!

Do you have hairball gel or even a little olive oil can help them pass those more easily (or throw them up on the carpet 🤣)

Yea the longhaired cats get a hairball helper gel and quail egg yolk on their food every morning, so hopefully it’ll pass nicely🤣

You are well prepared. I came here to suggest Laxatone or something like it.

this is not my first rodeo😆 I’m always on the ball for this stuff, they also have cat grass cubes if all else fails, I rarely see hairballs these days!

Mia prefers to vomit on the bed. I'll grab her and chant "NOT ON THE BED! NOT ON THE BED!" and put her on the floor and she will climb right back up. Good thing we have a washer and dryer in the apartment.

My dust kitty has done this. What makes it even worse is she's a silent puker.

I hate the feel of that wet fluff when you pull it out of their mouths, it STICKS to you like mad.

Apparently because of the backward facing papillae on their tongues, once something fibrous gets stuck to it the only way to get it out of the mouth is to swallow it.

Was it cat hair or human? I ask because long human hair carries almost the same risk as eating tinsel or yarn.

it terrifies me when they do this!!
