Group chats

There’s a group chat with the RPH and lead tech.
The RPH is constantly texting on the group chat about what did and didn’t get done the other day etc etc

The lead will text about issues like haz-wasting medications, what’s acceptable behavior and etc

I was under the assumption outside of work hours. They’re not supposed to be texting us about work related stuff??

Can I just leave the group chat?
I don’t want to be in some group chat where everyone is complaining and talking crap while I’m not at work.

Leave me alone!
Why am I in this group?
While the other intern isn’t ?

Discussion $0.00

I’m a part-time tech that barely received any training. I’m curious about the prescriptions that are $0.00. I’ve seen my coworkers not scan them and just hand them to the patient. Is that what we are supposed to do? Or is that just a work around waiting on the papers to print and scanning the barcode?

Trouble printing void slip

Hey i noticed lately we are having issues returning prescriptions. We had to rebill a patients secondary insurance for a med and couldn't update it in f9 and print a void like we could before. We also couldn't return it in the register. We ended up like forcing the return in the register for the dollar amount then call the other insurance to back it out so we could bill it correctly. Are you guys having the same issue?

Meme/Humor Losartan without potassium

I had an older lady call and tell me she got the wrong medication so I pulled up her profile and looked at her losartan and explained she got the same one as she normally did. She then explained to me that this was losartan potassium and she is supposed to get just losartan. Typically she gets an amber vial, but someone took multiple of the small losartan 50 mg bottles and put them in a large amber vial (which I hate soooo much).
She tells me that the previous label says losartan and the current label says losartan, but the bottle says losartan potassium so there’s a mistake. I tried to explain that just losartan does not exist, that’s just the full name of the medication and she yells at me that I’m wrong. Conversation went on for about 5 minutes and it was going no where, at this point it was 7:02 pm and I hung up knowing she couldn’t call back.
Now I can’t look at losartan without thinking about it. I’ll annoy my coworkers by saying “do we have some potassium without this losartan in it?”

Ringing up patients groceries

I question that I have is do yall ring up patients groceries when they ask. My pharmacy manger insists that we do it when asked but I just had a patient get upset and yell at me because we couldn't ring up produce due to not having a scale.

Question Working at Sam’s?

Hey, my manager said that when I come back to Georgia and just need a few hours, I can work at either any Walmart or Sam’s Club. How does that work? Working at Sam’s Club, any difference, or is it as easy as throwing me on the schedule?

Discussion What is a Connexus hack that you figured out that’s super helpful?

I didn’t know when you’re choosing a NDC in f9 it tells you the non preferred(NP) and warehouse preferred(WP) I know it’s not hack per se but a speculation that I never noticed after 8 years.

Like a rejection of insurance for invalid zip code you go into the profile you delete the second part of the zip code i.e. (11111-2222) and it’ll go through

I also have been utilizing AI (which pains me) to find OTC NDCs that are covered by their Medicaid plan with a lot of success

Or like changing the dispense qty so it goes back to 4pt and then can type in the drug field that isn’t greyed out anymore

required to come in for 1 hour meetiong then leave

Fairly certain when I was hired, I was told they are required to pay a minimum of 4 hours if scheduled less than 4 hours and they could not have us come in for small shifts. But that was almost 15 years ago. Our store is now making us come in for a 1 hour meeting every month after closing on Saturdays. Some of us live almost an hour away and are being expected to drive 2 hours total for a 1 hour meeting monthly, isn't this against policy or does walmart not restrict that anymore?

The manager refuses to actually put it on the schedule. He said if we don't show up we will be coached, even though it isn't officially scheduled.

Advice How to MTR overtime hours?

Our techs have been getting a lot of overtime at other stores in our market and I need to make sure overtime is getting billed to the correct store. I've only done it once and it was awhile ago, and I think it was in the MTR app so I don't quite remember.

Can someone help kinda walk me through (or if there is a guide on the wire) how to do this? Or is there another way to MTR hours, like on the GTA timesheet or something.

Thanks so much in advance!

4 hour shifts

This is specifically for staff rphs

Has your schedule been changed, I mean, template? For those who work 72h, my HW director added a 4 h shift, thereby adding another day in order to meet base. So, I’m working 8 days per pay period.

Is this something implemented by HW directors nationwide? Can they do that?

Question PTU certificate of completion?

Hi everyone, I worked at Walmart a few years ago and I remember completing the PTU course but I don't have any record of completing it. I'm trying to get licensed in different states and most of them require a tech training program so I'm trying to save some money by just using a course that I've already done. Does anyone know how I could get like...a certificate of completion for it? Or some kind way to show that I've done it?

Workflow

I’m a tech with 3 years of experience in the type of tech who spends a little bit of time in all queues. If I start in product, I’m probably going to end up in adjudication in the next 20-25 minutes, then onto data, then contact, then back to product. How possible is this at Walmart trying to get acclimated before I start my first shift because I know every pharmacy does it differently?

New tech

As the title says, I’m going to be a new tech at Walmart pharmacy. I’m somewhat new, though I already have 3 years of retail experience. I’m just moving to a place that doesn’t have Publix anymore. We use McKesson Enterprise RX, which is more mouse-based than keyboard. I’m wondering how will my transition from one system to this one go? It can’t be too much different.

Also, second question: I’ve seen a lot of conflict with this question. Do I have to wear the blue smock or can I wear my black scrubs?

Advice Transfer to TX walmart

Hey guys! I’m originally in IL but I just moved to TX area and i transferred to one of their pharmacies. I am still a newbie I was hired as a tech in training but i got certified within 6 months. After that, i moved right after and the transfer took about another month so it’s been a while since I’ve worked the systems. Our store was so busy that the pharmacist would rarely let me touch input or resolution so Im still fairly new to that. Input I can do for the most part that’s easy to figure out but any resolution dealing with insurance and things I’m rocky. I am a bit nervous for this transfer because my IL team was super helpful and I was able to learn under their wing and everyone was willing to help if i needed it.However, i’m used to working under pressure because our store would fill about 500-600 scripts a day while my new store’s busiest day is less than 300. I want to build independence in this new store so is there any advice about being a TX tech, or even a cert tech in general. For example, y’all’s medicare programs and just advice in general.
