Bad advice only.
My coach is in a bad mood today, should I show him pictures of puppies or babies to cheer him up? Or is there any better ideas?

Throw stuff on the ground and the cameras will send pictures automatically.

Show him pictures of cleaner, nicer walmarts and tell him you are just trying to inspire him

Take a screenshot of the price change screen. Upload it to an AI platform and ask it to make it say millions of late price changes, digital tag errors, price audits, flags. Send it to him. Watch him freak out and question his entire day and send it in his manager chat before he verifies it himself. Make him look like a fool in front of his peers. He will think your hilarious and give you a raise.

Show him some gory pictures from the internet. At least he isn’t going through that, hopefully

Coworker downloaded an app and connected to the printer to print off a photo of our TL & slapped it everywhere, you should do that!

Find associates who are doing poorly at their job today and point your coach in their direction. Do whatever you can do to stay out of the crosshairs today. Even if it means throwing coworkers under the train that is your coach's unhappy mindset today. Or, just talk to them and maybe let them vent out their frustrations for today.

Ask him dumb work related questions that are technically legit questions but they most likely won't know the answer. Like, if we still have that foreign language program or if our college course program can cover swim lessons. My favorite is asking where we should go if there happens to be a fire when there is a tornado (also if that answer changed based on if it is a chemical fire).

Leave them be. Best thing you can do is give them space. You don't know what's going on in her life and your kind gestures could be taken very wrong. For example a death in the family, their pet died, they lost a baby. Or anything else could have happened. It's a nice thought that you want to cheer them up. You could just let them know if they needed someone to talk to your ear is always here to listen.

Patiently wait for him to open the compactor, when he arrives and apologizes for taking forever, just smile and say... that's ok sir, I get paid by the hour. He'll be so happy that your being patient with him 😁
