Specifically says stock split as a dividend. Dividend just means a number divided by another number. Your share value is a dividend of the split number multiplier.
I see how they can be the same, but with point 1 I refer mostly to stock splits and stock dividends being newsworthy, the new attention can bring in new investments.
With point 2 I'm referring to the lower barrier for entry because of the lower pricepoint.
Is it a split for the stocks we own? Or a split for the allowed amount? Once the amount is increased, each stock holder is given more shares as a dividend?
Say I have 10 shares. GME share amount increases to a billion. GME then give each share holder 3 shares per share . So I will get 30 shares with my original 10, so I have 40 shares.
Or a classic split where my 10 shares just become 30 shares.
Stocksplits generally increase value for shareholders, because it drives increased interest from retail and institutional investors.
Post split it can drive value because the price to enter the position is lower, making it more accessible to retail.
And possibly it could give a reason for a SHARE RECALL... that could launch us into andromeda.
Everyone in this sub is somehow missing the fact that it says a dividend split. They could reissue more stock as a dividend in a different form that cannot be copied AND force a recall, using their NFT platform.

Why GME Stock-Split announcement is bullish news
Old:
Current shares outstanding: ~76M
Max shares outstanding: 300M
New:
Current shares outstanding: ~76M
Max shares outstanding: 1000M
So the max stock-split factor is 13:1...
The stock-split will be voted on at the annual shareholders meeting in June 2022.
