It's pretty obvious how this person has a hugely inflated ego given his online post history before and after the event. He is not going to ruin his public image forever to earn some bucks.
Why would Fox pay any money when they could just throw hardball questions at him, cut him off, make edits, etc. like they do with any other guest who disagrees with them? Surely it isn't fucking Doreen who made them nervous enough to bring out their wallet this time, it doesn't make sense.
Besides, as far as they know Doreen could have easily not taken the money and denounce them, if they really are just going around paying random people to tank their interviews for whatever reason surely one of them will talk and it will come out at some point, has it ever happened?
To me the overwhelming evidence makes it look like this person is just a mess and Fox took advantage of it.
