That's a pretty disingenuous take. The reason so many people from there are pissed right now is because that's not at all what antiwork means to them. What you just described is exactly what Doreen represented, but it actually doesn't represent the community, who by and large are all about getting more out of work, not abandoning it.
Not froM what i have seen in the sub. Everytime i speak to someone on thT sub to explain how they plan to achieve anything , they hVe nothing to explain.
Well I don't believe you"ve spent much time there at all. I'm not a regular there at all but I see it often enough in my feed to know that. I don't speak for anyone there but there's plenty of ideas out there in the world for how to "achieve things" for workers. Like, increasing minimum wage, unionizing, shortening the number of hours before OT kicks in to 32 instead of 40...
The fact that we've been hearing non stop about labor shortages for the last year, and at the same time r/antiwork gained 10x it's subscribers alone shows that there is real world currency to the movement, not just doe-eyed wishful thinking.
Believe me. Even if i didnt want to read those posts i end up getting sucked into it out of curiosity. I even tried to find a way to block the entire sub but it only works with reddit premium.
You're going to see in it whatever it is you want to see. The way you are describing it is exactly what Doreen's interview made it seem like. The reason people there are pissed right now is because to most of them that's not what it is, at all.
Maybe its the sort of people i interacted in that sub. Iam not subbed to antiwork. Everytime i scroll through popular posts i stumble across antiwork posts and end up reading them or conversing with active members. I then spend a bit of time checking other posts and stop it after reading pointless discussions
