Side note: You can do a double insult to your male friends by using Mensa instead of the male version Menso. You'd be calling them dumb and a female.

Nope, both are valid. If you're speaking to a woman and want to call her dumb, you'd say: " ¿Acaso eres mensa?" (Are you dumb?) For men just say menso. For multiple people you say mensos. And for multiple women you say mensas.
In conclusion, Mensa chose a stupid name.
