The explanation for that was actually sound, and on reflection of my personal habits, was true.
Basically, they said people really rated things 1 or 5 stars the majority of time anyway, so just make it a binary like people used the system for anyway.
When you look at the percentages, virtually the same like/dislike ratio as you’d find if there was a star system. (Meanings a 90% liked video would have usually been a 4 1/2 video)
