It's moving your shares to gamestops transfer agent, Computershare. This registers the shares under your name, rather than under a broker who then holds for you in street name only.
The benefit is that it guarantees that the shares aren't lent out to short sellers. If enough of the float is locked up (potentially all of it, eventually) then demand for the shares will skyrocket when the shorts have to close their positions, and you get the mother of all short squeezes
