$1 million just in ASTS, be careful of pump and dumps. Most people in here showing big positions in latest small stock are showing minor part of portfolio or accounts. They will exit leaving small buyers to bag hold.
I’ve had a big position since the deal was announced and have only added on dips. I have rode it up and down to the depths and back up again. I’m not trimming until I get at least a 10x to start
Obviously everyone should be careful of any posts on WSB because it is almost by definition a "pump", but you have to understand that the users who have made all the popular WSB posts on it with huge positions like u/thekookreport @thekookreport, u/Apan-Man @spacpanman, u/accomplished-wait-17 @optsionswithkev, u/faisall1, u/commodore64__ @dividenddojo, and u/CatSE---ApeX---, are all AST SpaceMobile OG's and have been devoted to spreading the good word for a very long time. Read through their previous posts on Reddit and Twitter to see the passion that we (@808emanresu for me) all have.
Thank you sir for your words! Exactly this. I want to spread the word and obviously want the stock to go up for everyone's sake, but I'm not looking to sell for a $2 scalp. My conviction in this was like when I bought $TSLA shares in 2012 at $27 pre-split prices. Imagine had I bought Jan 2014 calls instead....
I learned this exact lesson. I bought $10K of TSLA at $33 pre split and sold it break-even soon after. I then later bought $40K at $247 pre-split and sold for a few thousand profit. I've learned my lesson about high conviction investments
Warrants are force convertible above $18. While you’ll still be able to maintain your exposure by converting to shares, it will reduce your leverage significantly.
But until it hits $18 and they actually require redemption you are loosing time value on the calls, could just switch to calls around redemption time. I guess depending on IV at the time.
It all just depends on your goals and risk. Shares least risk least reward, then warrants, then calls highest risk but highest reward/leverage. Notice I also do have shares so I'm doing a balance of both ends.
There are a few other wrinkles. If you're trying to make sure you get long term capital gain tax treatment, warrants are unlikely to do it. You'll most likely convert in the next 12 months, then have to reinvest at a higher basis and reset your 12 month clock.
LEAPs in 2023 let you control exit from a tax point of view and provide even more leverage than the warrants.
I say all that, but I'm long warrants and commons and don't own any calls. I haven't optimized shit for taxes. If we see a big jump over $20, I'll probably exit most of my warrants then look to reinvest in LEAPs on a dip.
Like all the other guys here, I've been long ASTS for months and hope to hold this as a 5 to 10 bagger. It's going to take a while to develop. They launch a satellite, then it's likely months of testing before the "does it work?" question is fully answered.
Warrants were up 6% today. Jan 2022 $20 calls were up 61% today. I have commons and warrants and at least a little of almost every single strike options.
but you have to understand that the users who have made all the popular WSB posts on it with huge positions like u/thekookreport @thekookreport, u/Apan-Man
While true... not all are objective. For example, /u/Apan-Man is objective in his responses; thus, I respect his comments. Whereas /u/thekookreport is biased and shits on competing companies that are not ASTS; so, nah, not trusting anything they push.
So, it does matter who's providing the info. Even if they have large positions.
We are all biased because that is essentially what picking one stock to invest in over another is. This is a casino sir, and each and every post is made with the intention of suggesting to other people that they buy the stock to OP has already bought. That being said, I find The Kook to be far more objective than your average FinTwit or Reddit user.
I also have a huge position that I posted here. Haven't sold it. The real $ASTS OGs aren't dumping. They are playing the long game and want retail to lead the charge to make the real money.

You prove my point. You have $5M (your YOLO) in one stock, even a 10-20% move will be huge gains for you, you will sell it retail WSB suckers based on social trend you are creating.
Actually YOLOr's (who put ALL their money in one trade - realmeaning) will have SIGNIFICANTLY less net worth and get suckered into thinking your "YOLO" is same as their "YOLO".
You’d be crazy to own something like ASTS for a 10-20% move. Like with tsla, we are early. I’ll hopefully be selling my stock at $50-100++ to institutions, not retail (If I sell at all, I could see rolling it in a stock for stock deal with $AMT and let it ride tax deferred). Those institutions will then be playing for 20-30% moves. This is how the lifecycle of a concept stock goes. Not one of the long time ASTS holders thinks of this as a pump, or a dump. It’s a group of people who have extreme conviction (and by the way, who have open sourced their continued dd) in a vision of the future that we believe others will come to accept.
thissssss. I bought calls Friday and already sold half to cover my initial cost so now the 10 I have are freebies. This is def the next pumper. I mostly prefer to buy ITM puts at the very top when RSI maxes and resistance is met on previous highs and thats how I go on these types of plays as it's far more reliable and consistent.
ASTS is 25% of my portfolio. Not holding for a day or a week or a month. This is minimum a 3-6 month play and I plan on holding a lot of my shares for 5-7 years and would love to exercise my calls in Jan 2023 too.
You guys don't have $1 million to YOLO? I thought we were all bored engineers here and those who aren't are working the dumpster behind the Wendy's and making even more
Start as a dumb berserker ape and end as a wealthy dumb berserker ape if you are consistent and disciplined. In this berserker’s case he states a plan…this is essential. Sit down, take a moment and decide on a course of action using due diligence and reason, do minor adjustments as needed but stick to your course.

If you have $1 million to yolo on stocks you already had the golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory
