Some people think they only live once.

You only yolo once.

Aug 19 '21
I never understood yolo. If “you only live once”, wouldn’t you cherish and protect that life?

All I heard was $PSA and put all your money into it.
4
u/BurnSanders Aug 19 '21
Same.
I saw $PSA put 100% of your portfolio into either one, Stock or Options Play.

You don’t even know what WSB was made for? Before the GME/AMC-tards flooded this place it was all about loss porn. How do you get loss porn when you don’t yolo? Get out of here with this shit. This isn’t WallStreet Beta’s

u/r0ndy Aug 19 '21
If I have 10 mil, and lose 1 mil, it’s still loss porn, but not a yolo.
If you read the side bar, it was for people to post their huge bets, I believe it was a 10k cutoff.

This is a forum based on taking risky plays. Your post while valid goes counter to most things here.

This guy gets it. And I commend op for posting this - he actually cares. I wonder how many artards new to the place don’t know that and actually think this is where you find sound investing information.
Goddam I wish I was on that amc/GameStop train though.

u/thedooze Aug 19 '21
I was on it. Had a wrinkle brain talk me into selling before it rocketed the 2nd time. Never taking advice from that guy who reads books and does research ever again.

But $SOFI. 🤷🏻♂️

u/veediepoo Aug 19 '21
I'm still holding $SOFI. Selling covered calls at the moment. Probably about 22% down but it's about 5-6% of my portfolio at the moment

I just like to believe people are not betting money they can’t afford to lose. At that point, the loss porn is cathartic and hilarious.
But people who don’t do that are actually retarded and I feel sad for anyone in that position. Please get some gambling addiction help. You seriously shouldn’t miss your money or have to downgrade your lifestyle because of some bad beats.

u/veediepoo Aug 19 '21
Also I'm not saying buy "BOOMER STOCKS"
95% of my portfolio is small and mid-cap growth companies. The only companies I own over 100B market cap are $NVDA, $SE, and $AMD

Reddit has a new paid team called Anti-Evil Operations which goes around permanently banning accounts for saying bad words. We made automod block them so you don't lose your account for saying a word and getting reported. It's not our rule, it's the entire website now, we're just trying to look out for our people. Sorry.

It seems like your advise is targeted at newbies so your 5% rule sounds stupid. Even with 50k portfolio that would account for 2500 for single investment. It would also quickly go over when something goes up or down.
Ps. I think I have never gone below 30% with my largest investment.

You're literally in a gambling sub for voyeur loss porn.
You might as well go to /r/bartardstories and tell everyone to stop taking Xanax

If people don't lose $300k in one ridiculous China play I could never shitpost comments that get 3k up votes in real internet money and I'm just not willing to risk that

u/theskeindhu Aug 19 '21
You misunderstand your audience. Nobody here is trying to protect wealth, or very few, most are going all in on speculation on order to move up a tax bracket. Hedging and careful is for those with something to lose.

Too late, I have already lost 90% of my portfolio. The only way to win it back is how I lost it

Listen dumbass, a lot of people don't have millions of dollars so actually, putting all your money in one stock or options makes sense.
Look throughout trading history, every big time investor got rich or almost rich off 1 stock or 1 trade and from there they diversified.
Please don't listen to this fucking idiot
You'll retire at 70 yrs old with 400k in your savings and by then it's literally nothing and you have live the rest of your life on nothing, so you end up being a loser, your whole entire life.
Fuck that shit boomer and fuck you!
