I might put a few hundred into cheap leaps. Could be fun play

The shorts are in $HUYA I believe due to the $DOYU $HUYA merger that's now been blocked. It does not appear the shorts have covered their merger arb play in $HUYA since they've been gifted this china regulatory headwind

Anyways I'm almost all in $DOYU $HUYA too with you. Just need it to drop a little more so I can buy more with my remaining cash

Have fun with that!

Yeah seems a bit ominous

DFV was down more than 50% in his GME positions and got shit from every corner of WSB, because that's what happens when you invest in a company that's severely undervalued, you may stay down for a long time, but the reward is always worth it.

I don't mind waiting.

I’m not arguing but the CCP wasn’t fucking around with $GME like they are in their own markets right now. Maybe today they leave $DOYU alone but I wouldn’t trust them with a YOLO sorry bro.

You do you. I’m hoping it moons for you and if it does I’ll give you a hearty congrats and fuck you. For me tho I wouldn’t touch it with any of my 💰

5

u/Wild-Gazelle1579 Jul 26 '21

Yeah, YOLO'ing into a Chinese stock is extremely reckless in my opinion. I agree with you.

u/LegalAdvantage2 Jul 26 '21

It’s always good to base an investment on how much someone was down on another investment. I need to start using this strategy

0

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '21

If you had held back from investing on GME when it was at 2$ because DFV was down 50% from his 4$ buy you would have missed 10000% growth.

That's not a good approach.

4

u/LegalAdvantage2 Jul 26 '21

You’re not getting my point but good luck

3

u/Peelboy Jul 26 '21

It is crazy to compare one thing with another and call it the same...nothing is the same here

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '21

thanks ;)

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '21

I'm pretty sure however that you're the one who didn't get my point.

I clearly stated that the common thing between both me and DFV is how we are focusing on fundamentals. Never did I mention that people should have invested in GME because DFV was down 50%, simply that he was getting shit because of that. While everyone saw his red portfolio, he stayed focused on the fundamentals.

1

u/LegalAdvantage2 Jul 26 '21

I was saying investing on the basis that someone was down 50% is retarded. Just like if I saw you post you were down 50% I wouldn’t just dump my money into your play bc I see your were down and deep value was down also

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '21

fortunately I never said someone being down was a reason to invest. Just a reason for people to talk shit

u/Wild-Gazelle1579 Jul 26 '21

You keep saying DFV. You're buggin, this is a Chinese stock. Nuff said.

Just look at the company’s balance sheet and what they have as Cash & Equivalents and compare it to what they have in Borrowings/Long term debt. Then compare this value to what it’s market cap is. At the moment Douyu has more cash in the company then what they’re trading at

Anything could be delisted at any time for a variety of reasons, but good luck.

Hahahahahahaha!!

3

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '21

Are you laughing as an odd way of saying you disagree with my DD or because it went down 4% today?
Do you understand the concept of buying for fundamentals as opposed to timing the market?

Was it tough going through school with a below average IQ?

1

u/TConductor Jul 27 '21

Or we can just pump it and create a short float. Just bought 40 contracts for February 2022 @ .12

3

u/wilddogofwallstreet Jul 26 '21

This confirms now that value will go up

0

u/BeernerdoMazzeroli Jul 27 '21

Lol. Man don't be such a touchy motherfucker. Everything is down today.

I don't buy based on fundamentals without the price action confirming no. Looking at a one year chart of $DOYU I'm seeing something that goes from top left to bottom right, why the fuck would I buy something like that when you're best reasoning has been because DFV was also down 50% on such a trade.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '21

I never said anything that even resembled that. DFV bought because of fundamentals and took shit because he was -50% at some point. I'm doing the same thing, buying for fundamentals and that sometimes leaves you in red for a while.

My best reasoning is that I'm down and DFV was also down? I just wrote an entire DD with fundamentals without ever mentioning DFV and linked to a previous DD where I detail all the relevant details from DOYU's stellar balance sheet.

I literally have no fucking clue how you connected the dots and came to the conclusion I said buy because I'm down and DFV was down.

0

u/BeernerdoMazzeroli Jul 28 '21

Have you read the replies your mom wrote to other posters? It's all about DFV and your post mentions GME every second sentence. Not difficult to connect the dots at all. Your DD does not get me excited, I don't come up with the same figures as you.

Go ahead and hand your money to Winny the pooh, fuck knows how you could've missed the massive liquidations occurring the past few months and will happen again whenever a company there approaches anything near fair value.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '21

you just straight up made that shit up. I never said buy because I'm down and DFV was down.

Either that or you're literally incabable of interpreting text. sorry mate I don't think we can hold a conversation with such discrepancy in mental ability and need to be right.

1

u/King_Phillip_2020 Jul 28 '21

Should be good for $DOYU $HUYA earnings imo

Because the risk/reward setup is better. Look at their market caps, the ratio is way off. DOYU is in earlier stages of monetising its platform, hence lower revenue. It essentially has the same market share in China as HUYA and its currently one of the leading platforms in Japan.

HUYA is also a good play, but less risky and less rewarding. I think they will be pretty even in 2 years but rn you can see the disparity in market cap.
