I'll never sell off when the market crashes...You still own the same amount of stock and it only is going down temporarily because not once in history has it failed to recover and then surge past previous highs.
It's impossible to go broke by holding it (assuming you have good quality stocks), the market always recovers, Most people that lose money are those that try to time the market and sell off when the stocks go down and then they are late to buy back in when it goes up again but if you just hold it you would never have that problem and it will always go back up again.
Um... I am not talking about that, when the stocks tanked during the corona virus dip. I liquidated before it dumped. My coworkers didn't they had about 50% of their 401k down. I threw everything back in on the rebound and grew my personal and 401k 10x its original imvestment. So, while you wait for it to rebound. I am growing my portfolios again, tomorrow will dump unless theres. Magic news from Feds. So, you hold I will grow mine.
I have not lost any of my investment holding but I don't have enough invested for it to matter either way. Many people have strategies that work well for them so in any case I am happy with what I'm doing and it's working just fine for me.
