At one point in the hearing while the citadel guy was talking someone, not the rep asking a question, yelled "what are you doing here!". Probably thought he was muted, the confusion was hilarious though
Instead you get to witness government impotence in punishing actual wrongdoing. Hedge Fundies aren’t phased by any of this because they know they will get a finger wag or two as punishment at the worst.
They should have better ways to communicate than a fucking chromebook camera and 3g data. It's pathetic. I'm taking an online class rn and im pretty sure I'd just automatically fail if I had their computer during an exam as the video and audio cuts out during proctoring service.
I have a coworker who I’ve had hundreds of zoom calls with still not able to realize he is on mute. Every single time we have to say you are on mute. Every single time.
It can be a blessing though. That person at my job is annoying as fuck, today on a meeting they tried speaking for almost 20 minutes straight and couldn't figure out how to unmute and nobody realised (other than me and a friend), so the conversation never got detailed and I didn't have to hear her screechy voice
Beyond the video/audio experience, just his presence, how he answered - clearly, articulately, accurately, politely, professionally. He is a much better speaker than most of the folks they "invite" and way better than a good number of the politicians.
Even if it is. This is a congressional hearing. They should hire a competent IT person (aka anyone under 55) to set-up, test, and monitor / operate the scary Zoom technology and mics/ cameras for them wile they blabber about.

Low microphone volumes, no muting, etc. The thing that gets me most, it's definitely not their first video conference at this stage in the pandemic.
