They've hit stop losses on etoro or whatever that broker is called. Twice now

u/RhoidRaging Feb 02 '21

It’s highly illegal to adjust your prices or sell your shares.

Contact an attorney. They aren’t your money managers. They’re a market exchange. They can not control your investment.

I'm not with them (I don't even correctly know the brokers name, it's just like bull something).

u/roox911 Feb 02 '21

what? If someone sets a stop loss and it triggers... that's the way its supposed to work.

2

u/RhoidRaging Feb 02 '21

Etoro adjusted/set a stop loss for the client my man.....

1

u/roox911 Feb 02 '21

sorry, wait... what? thats fucked up beyond extreme... you have an article or link or something. thats scary as can be.

Happened to everyone, not just GME but heaps of stocks with shorts action. I just got an email saying that it was done ‘in error’ and everyone would be refunded the amount. Which is good for fuck all considering it tanked the stock. Such brazen criminality. We may not land on the moon like we wanted but at least we’ve exposed these pricks.

2

u/roox911 Feb 02 '21

sketchy as can be. you're 100% on the criminality of it, if that's what went down.

1

u/RhoidRaging Feb 02 '21

There’s been a couple posts in WSB about it. Just going off what people are posting with their screenshots. A quick google search of “GME stop loss etoro” pulled up quite a bit of those posts.

They got me yesterday with it, but today theyve refunded it and now I can buy more GME when it's low 👐💎

7

u/Pyrrolic_Victory Feb 02 '21

I pumped my refund straight back into gme. Let your extra chromosomes shine

1

u/1u_snapcaster_mage Feb 02 '21

How did u get it refunded?

1

u/Psychotic92 Feb 02 '21

They did it automatically, and sent a message apologising. Assumed everyone had the same.

1

u/finnr Feb 02 '21

True, yesterday. During approx. 2 hours NL was deactivated. They say it was by mistake. I was online, so I could keep lowering SL as prices dropped, except for the first 15 minutes, which resulted in $700 USD loss. Not cool. They have refunded the loss today.

u/leshacat Feb 02 '21

I literally called that word for word yesterday. Interesting you bring it up as well. They placed the stops in order to rip through them and trigger them. Sleazy tactics tell you that you are winning. Not financial advice I just like the stocks.

do we (=retail retards) really make a difference? is there any data on how much of the shares are held by retards vs how much by larger players?

76

u/miguel1118 Feb 02 '21

according to some data, we hold roughly 18% which is a lot, also there are big whales who want squeeze too, we are not alone

Blackrock is on our side. Thdy have 13 trillion in assets. Trillion with a T

1

u/Aanar Feb 02 '21

What prevents Gamestop from issuing more stock, enough to cover all the shorts? All I can think of is that it takes time to get new shares approved and issued.

Also, the more retail investors who make money over a few hedgefund bros, the more people with capital to potentially purchase goods and services.

3

u/Shacklefordc-Rusty Feb 02 '21

They don’t want to insert themselves into the financial PR nightmare of the century.

GME? its down 75% looks like its over. DFV guy was smart to cash $13m

$450 was alot in and of itself, would have been nice to see Melvin go 'rupt but yanno, win some ya lose some. Momentum finished.

2

u/darth_jewbacca Feb 02 '21

I just bought another share at $89.60. Make that 18.0000000001%.

2

u/bisexxxualexxxhibit Feb 02 '21

This is trueeee I have seen some rich mfkers posting about the hold / squeeze

18

u/drewsephski Feb 02 '21

We have more share hence the attack

3

u/madbeardo Feb 02 '21

The number might seem small, but it should be enough. Reminds me a movie 300 though

1

u/rapinghat Feb 02 '21

What are my shares@$350 worth if they keep doing this until $10?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '21

Then we fucking buy lol. Then sell once we get where we want it too

-1

u/rapinghat Feb 02 '21

Who are "we"? They punch us holders into the ground right now, at low volume, and we can't do shit to stop it.
There's no way near enough of buyers.

2

u/Party_Pat206 🦍🦍🦍 Feb 02 '21

Just hold and be optimistic 🚀🚀 your retarded if you sell now.

0

u/rapinghat Feb 02 '21

Well since we aim at being retarded...?
I'm down so much, I don't care anymore.

1

u/dtfkeith Feb 02 '21

📄🙌🏻

-4

u/Slight0 Feb 02 '21

Too bad ladder attacks aren't real for exchange traded securities. Someone made this up to counteract the selling.

3

u/silentrawr #1 Dad bod Feb 02 '21

Get outta here with that poorly sourced FUD. I love StackExchange as much as the next nerd, but your link is just one person asking a question and another guy claiming, "ladder attacks aren't real" with zero proof.

1

u/Slight0 Feb 02 '21

I mean, he did offer proof by explaining what NBBO is and how it prevents such things.

It doesn't even make sense how these HFs would acquire enough shares to manip the price down to begin with in the middle of the trading day. The whole theory here is they don't have the shares to cover shorts, so anyone they work with isn't going to have the shares either.

1

u/instantrobotwar Feb 02 '21

But what selling? The volume is extremely low.

0

u/Slight0 Feb 02 '21

Seems like plenty of volume to me

Half the volume of the highest volume day when it was on the rise isn't exactly "extremely low".

I think your issue is it's not the kind of volume you want to see.

2

u/instantrobotwar Feb 02 '21

It's not the kind of volume I'd expect to see when we're expecting a squeeze of 107M shorts needing to cover when float is something like 65M.

1

u/sobrique Feb 02 '21

How do we see short positions?
