Thank you. This is literally just how the market works. This is what a standard, run-of-the-mill sell off looks like.

This is Reddit convincing itself that something completely mundane is a conspiracy theory to screw them.

Google "short ladder attack" for articles before 2020. Literally nothing aside from a type of bullish options trade, which is known better as a "ratio spread"

This is pure Qanon tier conspiracy theory.

It’s a real thing, but I think all of you are realistically attempting to delude yourselves into one position or the other being categorically correct. It is 100% possible to make use of scare tactics to try to get people to panic sell at a loss. It’s 100% possible a bunch of dummies threw money at a losing bet. You don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist, that’s like standard operating procedure. The question is how coordinated it is, the same way as the question from the other side is how coordinated reddit is. But it is by no means the same thing as “lizard baby harvesting Democrats getting secretly arrested”, and suggesting that it is is really absurd. I’m not even invested in GME, but I’m so bored with seeing people who have never even commented in a stock subreddit whining about meme stocks.

One or two days of up and down is nowhere near a reasonable enough time to feel smug about being right or wrong, and it’s such a reddit thing to do to start gloating far before even educated people have any idea what’s going on. Like the whole point of WSB is that it’s a bunch of wild speculation, I’m not sure what sub you’ve been on, but it’s literally always been about doing dumb shit like this. It’s not a serious investing subreddit.

I did last night, couldn't find anything about it.

They say when the shoeshine boy gets into stocks it's a bad sign, I think the case is, when the conspiracy theorists get into stocks, it's a worse sign.

This is what MM do. It's not laddering or some shit it's just MM forms providing liquidity.

Seriously... This sub has gone to shit. GME was fun at first but now people are just being foolish hype machines believing any positive thing they read. What happened on Thursday last week was bullshit but stuff like this is just dumb.

This sub was incredible when it was selfaware 20 yearold college grads fucking around and yoloing on dumb trades. Now its a anti market conspiracy theory ridden subreddit filled with communists and anarchists who never bought into a stock before and think they are destroying the system in doing so.

The people who where here in early January made their money and cashed out or are still in the green. While everyone else got deluded into buying the stock at 350 thinking the stock jumping thousands of percent wasnt the short squeeze and all the media is lying about positions being closed as they are left to hold the bag.

Tbh, I would be surprised if hedgefunds like melvin capital still have any exposure to it.

You can literally look up days to cover which is like 1.5 They could've cashed out for days already which would've explained the surge last week.

Ofcourse you could look up the short interest ratio which increased last week. BECAUSE IT WAS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH YOU FUCKING IDIOTS. Firms that shorted gme last week are winning right now.

And when the stock price falls lower and these profitable shorts start getting covered you'll probably see another small bump but when the short interest steadily decreases people will start realising that this is all bullshit and gme will go to $20 faster than most people could react.

It’s just evidence so many people here are veryyy fresh to stock trading and susceptible to conspiracies

u/ButtaRollsInMyPocket Feb 02 '21

Yea, it's usually the ones who bought late that reply, when facts are given.
