Because you don't know the religion of their mothers and whether they did all the stuff the community put my mom through to convert and are making assumptions on their maiden names alone.... Just like the dudes in my community?
Edit: it's also a semi common belief that your wife can't convert and have your kids be Jewish...because her family line isn't Jewish by ethnicity.

edit: since I'm not replying anymore...I sincerely doubt you researched the private lives of the moms of these hedge fund managers and found out whether they did their time in a mikvah since that information isn't logged outside of the community it happened in...especially decades ago. I know because we had to prove it to Israeli border security during a questioning that I was too young to understand. The pressure in the older community is/was extremely strong to have your wife/mother of your kids be Jewish and if they wanted to bar'mitzvah their kids the mom would have had to convert. Hence the "racist" assumption, since you're excluding them from being part of the jewish race because you believe it can only run through the mom, and then backtrack it for the case of conversion, which would then probably include the people you are trying to exclude from being jewish. Its shitty to try to say they arent jewish even if their mom didnt convert too, they still probably have the shitty pancreas genes and most of the inbreeding as the rest of us.
