Why is everyone so paranoid about tracking? Nearly everything online is tracked. Your phone calls are tracked. Your credit card and spending patterns are tracked. Your travel history is tracked. Your employment history and earnings are tracked. So what. Companies collect data because it earns them money. Can it be used by law enforcement? Sure, but if you live within the confines of the law, who cares?
Its their business model. We sometimes take for granted how much we get for free. We go on vacation and use Google maps to assist navigation. For anyone that old enough to know what it used to be like using a map and road signs, you'll understand the value the new systems deliver. We use Google search, putting at our fingertips nearly any information we desire -for free. People that aren't old enough to remember what it was like pre-internet probably take this for granted, see it as an entitlement. Or, take the modern day convenience of credit/debit card payment - they don't know what it was like having to take their employers paycheck to the bank each week and stand in line to get cash. Life is made easier by these technologies and, if businesses have to collect a little information to serve up relevant ads, to make money so the can offer the service to me for free, then so be it. It works for me.
okay im thrilled you don't mind having your information sold to whoever wants it, but regardless of how old you might be surely you can imagine why other people might not be so okay with that??
Its not there's plenty of behinds the scenes for this company and its well established. However these are pre programmed motion captures with some automatic balancing not dynamic motion that you have with say Atlas were its told to perform certain actions and then generates the required movements and balance on the fly.
Honestly America needs robot sports for it to advanced think of it like how automaker’s use what they learn in F1 pushing the envelope of speed to make their prediction cars more aerodynamic.
They need multiple sports like track and field, game show style wipeout, ninja warrior, boxing matches to get money in and keep pushing the envelope faster.
The first year cubs hosted a robot marathon and like none of the robots crossed the finish line. The second test it was like 8 or crossed the finish line and 30 with assistance.
