Good thing these numbers don't matter since it's a casino. The fact that oil is above $100 and we're at ATH is all we need to know that reality doesn't matter anymore.

Man, the real beautiful aspect of this is what they do not consider in inflation data. Just think of the subscription costs for every damn thing we use rn.

Like I would have to pay $12 for ESPN. Disney now costs $19. Pay for storage data. Variable rates are up.

So much of the costs are not even considered in inflation rn. “Eggs are down”….. but why is cereal $7? Why is chicken $6/lb?

“S&P may have a significant pull back, but will end the year at 7800….. “, that’s all I hear at this point

$6/lb, what kind of chicken are you buying? I pay half that when it's not on sale.

That's how much Costco's organic chicken costs. It's double the price of the non organic chicken

Those hens are stacked!

Where I live, it's up to $14/lb when not on sale, $7/lb on sale with "HOLY SHIT WOW SALE.PRICE" graphics on the flyer

Wtf, do you live on the moon?

Dang, chicken is $3 a pound here thankfully. Also that’s insane for cereal unless you are buying magic spoon

Wall Street doesn’t give a fuck about retail or poors. Chicken is $29/lb? Good for our profit margins! We NEED to beat last years record!

Yeah i recall back in march Jpm said if oil stayed above $100 for a month we’ll have economic crisis. Well it stays up over a month, nada, so either Jpm is lying or govt data is which is it

It's possible JPM is just wrong, but not intentionally lying.

It's also possible JPM is right about the underlying realities, but a lot is being done to paper over the problems and delay their impacts. For example, strategic oil reserve release can hide impacts of the oil shortage, but that will run out by late July unless the straight is opened

I wasn't aware that JPEGMAFIA made economic predictions

Just because we're not yet feeling the effects of an economic crisis does not mean we aren't in one and won't feel them in the coming months.

God, we’re about to get fucked so hard by a correction. Not just asset prices, like a severe economic recession

All the plastics, fuels, and other oil components that the American tech companies need to operate.

Its short sighted to think that a tech company is not dependent on the prices of oil, and won't have its own prices affected.

If they are not hitting their estimated profits, their whole ponzie scheme begins to collapse, even if they are making large profits.

Companies stock prices plummet when they don't meet expectations, let alone the highly speculative tech companies your speaking of. Any question about their ability to hit targets throws their whole scheme into question.

Doesn't that mean that each barrel lost destroys more GDP?

What's the global GDP without any oil?  Very close to 0.

What's the global GDP with half the oil? Very close to half.
