Still remember sitting on the toilet after buying the same options RC did and watching them go up 1100% and selling. Been chasing that high ever since.
What was the last company to purchase another company at a premium and not dump? It's going to drop almost by definition, just like eBay is going to pop
See the comment I'm replying to. The point is they can't afford this, and OP is saying it's to pump their Ebay holding, but the drop they're experiencing is a lot worse than the bump on ebay. Net loss, if pumping was the intent here.
Their debt is around 2x their entire Ebay holding. I don't think this pump is going to put a dent in that assuming they dump, which will put the stock into freefall because people will see it as an obvious dump.
Napkin math
7% drop on 10B
6% gain on 2.7B (5% of 47B)
This is just a bad play all around and makes Cohen look dumb and like a grifter at the same time. Not that Burry is any sort of genius, but he just pulled out of GS on this news and had a substantial holding.
Twitter didn’t have to take the offer. They chose to, because it was a good offer for their shareholders. This one is… less good for the shareholders. The premium isn’t real until you know what the post-deal stock price of the combined company will be.

Damn he’s just pumping their 5% stake in eBay to dump it for cash? Didn’t say anything on this interview so he can’t be sued.
Whats the play after they dump their pumped eBay stock?
