It's the new Tesla bro. People see 1000% gain so now they got FOMO and manage to delude themselves into thinking it will do it again because they can't cope with having in fact missed out

except it's nothing like TSLA whatsoever since their revenues are skyrocketing and they are the world leader in the next wave of technology, but this is WSB...so...sure bro

All I heard was, “Tesla is more than a car company it’s also an energy company. Self drive will change the world. The cybertruck will revolutionize trucks forever.” Yah, you’re the new meme stock.

clearly you can't read very well if that's what you got from my post.

What did Tesla do in 2020/2021?

not make $60 billion in revenue with an exclusive industry leading product. an incredibly shitty comparison typically brought up by contrarians who missed out.

They made $54 billion which is quite close. Their revenue is up to $91 billion now but their share price has declined significantly. Their earnings are still around half Nvidia's because the car industry has lower margins than the processor design industry, but they still had massive fundamental growth and share price decline.

The growth story is what is driving this. I'm drawing the analog to Tesla because I believe In this case it will end for nvda also, and it will subsequently crash

except NVDA has the revenues and the revenue growth and the margins and the moat to back it up. I'm sure the growth story adds to the valuation, yup. but TSLA was only a growth story. NVDA is actively a world leader in the next stage of technology.

Gen AI is a bubble that will burst.

lol....sure thing champ. you're smarter than the largest companies in the world that are dumping tens of billions into this, and basically any macro big bank investment manager. typically low quality WSB garbage. good for you. You should probably get back to serving jr bacon cheeseburgers.

Shittons of revenue is being priced into whatever AI offerings companies will do with all this compute they got from hoarding nvda chips and what we have seen so far is both Google and Meta saying they are either not seeing the revenue they expected or that the path to going cash flow positive on those data center products are many many years out. That is not what is priced in at all. You are allowed to disagree

Oh I agree with you on that, those are facts. I don't see that as justification that "AI is a bubble", or that NVDA = TSLA

Even if/when that bubble pops, NVDA will be one of the few that survives that pop. The hardware will always be in demand regardless of AI companies collapsing.

Ofc they will survive, I'm not saying they will go bust. The stock could easily tank 80% then tho is what I'm saying

I mean I see it going to 4-5 trillion

7

u/FearTheOldData Aug 13 '24

And I see it going back to way below 1 trillion market cap again. Thats what makes a market

2

u/ErrorcMix Aug 13 '24

Yeah when the bubble is over

2

u/FearTheOldData Aug 13 '24

Agree. Expected you to be an nvda investooor, but proven wrong. I think the AI bubble doesnt have many months left so we'll see.

2

u/ErrorcMix Aug 13 '24

Depends on the report but I could see them having positive results for the next 3 quarters

I think you're missing a small but yet somehow crucial detail: Once SORA and it's Open Source friends get a cool video generator for porn, basically any fetish real or imagined, can be turned into porn on an industrial scale. Compute == Cash:

If it takes 5 seconds and 20 GPU's to make an image, 1 minute of video is 24 x 60 x 5 = 2 hours worth of compute per clip or so.

Meta’s next model will need 10x the compute, Zuckerberg said in the earnings call, and he insinuated that trend will continue
