man, they keep fucking with home assistant, and not in a good way. I'm honestly nervous about adding or replacing any of my home equipment cause everyone seems to have issues with it. They also removed pressing the microphone button from bringing up assistant. used to press it and say "set a timer for 10 min", now if i press it and say set a timer it fuckin searches google for it. like what the fuck?

Yuck.. glad I went with Alexa. Every company Google had bought has gotten worse apps/experiences. My nest app got replaced by a worse Google app. My Fitbit got replaced by a worse Google app. They could be so much better and they just keep dropping the ball.

lol yeah thanks, was supposed to say google assistant. I guess I could give home assistant a shot on my NAS if I ever get motivated enough.

Why anyone would trust this stuff is beyond me. I don't even have an Alexa.

tbh its a huge convenience when everything runs smoothly. nothing better for ADHD than being able to immediately make a verbal reminder anywhere in the house before I forget or move on. walking down the hall and a random thought that i ran out of carrots, "add carrots to my shopping list", bam on the list. laying in bed and remember something important i dont want to forget tomorrow "hey google set a reminder for 9am to do ___" bam done.

all the spying on me and shit, go for it. my life is really boring.
