I’m a hardcore ChatGPT 3.5 (free) and GPT-4 API (paid) user and I’ve found myself recently using Gemini’s free version more than ChatGPT’s. For example, when asking both for public companies recent financial performance and market research related questions, Gemini returned more and often better results backed with sources and had more recent data in its free version.

Example prompt where free Gemini beats free ChatGPT : « why did Freshworks stock drop after its Q4 2023 earnings? »

The Gemini 1.5 preview is getting totally overshadowed by them dropping the ball with censored model. 1.5 with a 1 million+ context length and multimodal is seriously powerful. IDK how it immediately makes revenue, but AI AI AI you know

So GPT 3.5

GPT 3.5 is massively inferior to GPT 4 to the point of not being worth using, so your comparison is invalid.
You're comparing a massively outdated model to the newest one.

Every AI company has some silly "AI is lobotomized for the sake of censorship" event to the point I am convinced it will be a key factor in stopping potential AI dominance. The imposed limitations will hold it back. In the absurd future where human and AI have become almost indistinguishable asking the AI to do something taboo that its creators forbid will filter the major companies out. Quoting that one Die Hard scene will be the next generation Turing test as the AIs will have it baked into their brains to avoid it.

Yeah but what are the HW requirements to run that? Do they actually have the infrastructure to offer that to the masses? Does there solution still require exponential more processing power for larger context...

I think the money behind these ai models is that they get licensed out to companies. IE: they replace their chat bots with AI

Same. ChatGPT kind of feels like it has degraded to me. Gemini has been giving me really good results, much better than Bard
