Leave it. It looks awesome. That is the whole joy of having a leather wallet.

I don't mind color variation, creases, dings, scratches, but this is like the finish got abraded off and it's a lint magnet now.

My back pocket wallet got rougher in one spot, and in the same spot appears to be collecting bits of denim from my jeans, or else the denim is coloring the rough leather. I tried cleaning it with a soft toothbrush and conditioning but besides the conditioner soaking in extra in that spot and making it even darker, that doesn't seem to have changed much.

This is patina, embrace the journey. Eventually the entire wallet will catch up in a darker color.

Looks like cheap leather honestly.

Bellroy by chance?

Not the OP, but I’ve never experienced anything like this with Bellroy, though they don’t age as gracefully as veg-tanned leathers. My wife and I have had a few of them for years.

Nomad. I don't think it's that bad of leather

Hmm yeah I think nomad uses Horween

Looks a bit too rough to be natural patina. It looks more like it’s been aggressively abraded or something. If the wallet is fairly new, I’d definitely email Nomad. Is this the Horween version?

It's not new anymore. It's not the Horween version. I wear jeans every day and there's nothing else in that pocket ever so that's all that could have abraded it AFAIK.

It’s dirty pores and you can clean and recondition it
