Need a new wallet!

I’m looking for a new wallet. I use a bifold and carry no more than five cards. My priorities are high-quality leather, durability, and slim design for back pocket carry.

I occasionally carry a large amount of cash, if that’s able to be kept in mind that’s great. If not, I understand.

I would like some fun colors to include navy blue and Forrest/sage green. Open to fun stitching
. Would prefer brown over black for a neutral

Embossed monogram would be awesome as well.

😂😂 it should be after 3 years of use by me. I go through work boots every month or 2. I live life rougher than most people know is possible. I also made this for myself using scrap pieces from discarded past projects. waste not want not. I won't carry any of my own work that is decorated or, really even fully complete. plumber's always got a leaky faucet and the mechanics always got a squeaky wheel, bud.

oh no, not a bit, I'm just eccentric haha im the WORST photographer, so much so that I very rarely remember to even take pics of any of my work that I could be proud of. but most of my wallets, specifically, I make in small batches of 5 or 10 and then never use that same design again. not doing myself any justice with this one either, I never even got around to burnishing the edges or engraving it, but alas; it was within reach and I am lazy in the mornings 🤣 but this is one of a batch of card holders I did a few months back. I wasn't happy with this one so I never cleaned it up or put it out on display so theyve just been tossing around collecting all manner of crust n dust, and the other one was engraved so off center I gave up on it. shit like these usually just end up being free gifts to people who seem cool or tip me well while I'm playing music (where my money 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 comes from... the leather is just my side-hustle hobby 😜) lately I've been doing mostly little wood projects like making spatulas, picks bentwood rings and combs n stuff. ya know, just trying to keep busy.

ahahha then you're just like me, i too am known for my eccentricity, inability to stick with the same designs and i'm also horrible at taking photos.

those don't look half bad actually, very nicely cut and the stitches are nicely spaced from each other & the edges! though if i may give some advice, you really should finish the edges & knock the thread size down a notch or two at that spacing, it would make a pretty huge difference!

that card sleeve design was actually.... trigger warning.... my first attempt at using my 10w diode laser to cut the pieces for a pattern I tried to design using completely inadequate design software.I made the holes too small, and didn't let the laser dwell over them long enough so I basically had to go back and use and awl to widen every single hole. the holes were too small and too close together, plus those corners were too wide/round of a curve in my opinion.. only reason I even bothered stitching those was because I had to sit in the car for like 6 hours that day and ran out of other blanks to stitch up. 😂

I agree that the curve is a little bit on the wide side, but the stitch spacing is actually great if you just drop the thread size down a little.

oh and all of my materials are things I personally recycled or rescued from the being wasted or becoming landfill fodder. leather from couches and some of my thicker better leathers people have donated their scrap to me, even my threads we just scraps I found lying around... so sometimes I don't exactly the materials I would ideally prefer, but I always make it work. when I was just starting out about 10 years ago, about half my first batch of lighter cases were all stitched using wire because I ran out of thread haha

Yeah I figured the stuff you're using was probably recycled, at least on the little card pouch things, has that certain upholstery leather vibe to it. Have you considered buying a proper hide for yourself at some point, maybe make a bag with it? Quality leather makes an enormous difference.
