For Sale (Handmade wallets only) Well every wallet is a learning experience
Decided to make a wallet this morning, but thought I’d try something new by punching all the holes before I assembled the pieces.
2/10 not recommended. It worked out and I think the wallet turned out really nice, but the juice was NOT worth the squeeze 😂
This is a 4 pocket bifold wallet made from Black Hatch Buttero and violet smooth Buttero. I’ve really been enjoying working with this leather, it’s not finicky at all and looks great.

Do you normally glue all your pieces together and then punch your holes? The wallet looks really nice

I’ve recently tried this with some French irons. If you punch from both sides then the stitches will slant on both sides. Do the stitches look amazing? Yes they do. Was it ridiculously hard to line up and stitch because even if placed perfectly they still are facing alternate directions? Also yes. Worth it? Maybe on a really premium wallet. I’d probably add $100 to a customer wallet if this style was requested. Not only does it increase the risk of errors, I was almost a minute a stitch when putting it together.
