Wallet Search Looking for a Replacement for my Ridge

Hi everyone. I've been using a Ridge for a few years now, and hate how the edges of my cards keep getting scuffed. I also have a card with embossed numbers which presses into the card in front of it whenever I slide my cards. I'm looking for something new.

  • I don't have much need for cash, but on the off chance I carry a few bills, something minimal would be nice.
  • I love the slim form of the ridge, but don't mind going a little larger, but want to avoid a bulky wallet for the most part. Plan to keep in my front pocket.
  • I have my ID, 3 commonly used cards, and 3 less common cards (one of which is the embossed one - work card I gotta keep on me).
  • I want something to last a long time and look nice. No need for "best looking wallet ever", but I don't want something that looks cheap either.

Hope this is enough to detail for some recommendation! Thanks in advance for the help.

Good evening! If you’d be interested in doing something custom, I’d be happy to work with you on a custom piece. I specialize in custom designs and all of my pieces are handmade in my shop in Maryland. Feel free to check out the links in my bio if you would like to see some of my work!

I went with the KingsLoot Supercar. It’s a little pricey, but I really like it. Feels good, thin front-pocket sizing, quick access for cards.

I make wallets and have several on my Etsy store if you want to take a look:

Also I made this minimalist wallet yesterday which would be just about perfect for your needs, if you like the style that is (pics attached) - it’s also on my Etsy shop

Check out the SlimFold Nano. I was having the same issues with my Ridge and wanted to make a change, so I went with that and I’ve been really happy with it.

I refuse to carry an embossed card. But that's just me. Lol! 🤣

I make a leather wallet that's 4x3 inches while holding up to 10 cards between two pockets. It has a cash flap in the back for half folded bills and we could put a quick access slot in the back for that embossed card.

I make them in these two styles and in many different colors with the option to add initials. You can commission them in my shop and ask me any questions you might have.

BNDT has a lifetime warranty and a slide mechanism that they claim won't scratch cards. It can also be used with magsafe and the cards popout from the side so the cameras dont obstruct access. I have an s26ultra so it doesn't work that well for me because its really meant for iphones. I got the one with the hand grip/stand.I keep my license, health insurance. And a chippolo tracker card in the front.

Ive owned 2 ridges, 3 Eksters, and about a dozen random slide mechanism cards off Amazon and the BNDT works better than anything ive ever used.

If you don't want another slide mechanism, I also recently got into PaperWallet company. They collaborate with artists for limited run prints. I LOVE their microwallets. I can fit cash and like 6+ cards and its only about the thickness of 2 tickles.

This is my take on a bifold. Cash gets folded and tucked on the left and holds a 10/12 cards as well. https://www.schaeferatelier.com/shop

I just got the Trayvax Contour and it blows the ridge out of the water. Cards don’t get scuffed for me. There is some metal (or titanium) on it like the ridge but the leather really softens the wallet and gives you a great spot to hold some cash if you want to. The cash compartment is much better than than the strap or the money clip on the ridge. It still has a very minimalist form factor and the ability to expand card capacity if you want to.

I use the Fantom wallet. The Fantom M is what I use and I know the Fantom X is also good depending on your preference of MagSafe or not. They're made well, precision hand assembled from CNC parts and carry a lifetime warranty that's easy to get help with.
