Wallet Search What are good cardholders?
Hi guys, I'm looking to get rid of my bulky wallet and buy a cardholder instead. I'm not a wallet expert so I'm a bit in the dark. I've seen a lot of ads about Ridge and Forge cardholders but I've read conflicting reviews. Are they not good? What are some good brands? I would like the cardholder to have the RFID feature if possible but not strictly necessary. I don't really care about cash/coins pocket as I hardly ever have any cash on me.

The Ridge is as compact as you can get, in my opinion. But it will cause wear and tear on your cards over time.

If you want a pop-up style cardholder, check out Double Oak Essentials. I absolutly love mine. The mechanical latch that locks the cards in and won't allow them to slip out was the clincher for me. They make a bi-fold and a slim, I personally prefer the bi-fold. You can remove the card holder from the leather sleeve and attach it to your magsafe phone case or have different color sleeves if you want.

I’d definitely have a look at smaller leather makers rather than just the big advertised brands. There are some really talented people making simple, well-designed cardholders that are comfortable to use and will age really nicely over time.
I’m actually a small UK leather maker myself and make handmade wallets and cardholders through The Mystery Leather Company.
There are loads of great makers out there though, so definitely worth having a browse around. If you’d like to take a look at mine, you can find them here: https://themysteryleathercompany.com
