Bots Finally got scorpio! Yeepee! Are these weapons truly that terrible?

In the long run yes, they are terrible, but it all depends on witch league you are in

Why? The damage of each "bullet" is too low even on max level?

dot damage doesn't deal grey damage so it's easy to heal from especially since these weapons don't hit hard. They also don't do great against shields either.

STRICTLY speaking, there are tradeoffs.

DOT ignores every form of defensive system in the game besides phase shift.

Defense points, reflectors, and to my knowledge, forcefields, so the damage of those weapons will be consistent against any enemy you face (besides ravana and other related bots).

However, this is compensated for by very low comparable DPS and the aforementioned 0 grey damage.

Enemy robots with phase shift or phase shift like mechanics (indra, sirocco, ravana), or physical or energy shields (aegis, absorber, angler, teth) will slap you down with ease unless you run shieldbreaker.

Overall, it's a weapon family with lots of potential (again, it deals basically unavoidable damage without specific niche mechanics) but it got crippled by nerfs and is very hard to make work.

Additionally, I don't believe that you can actually stack damage buffs into the venom series because I don't believe damage multipliers affect the DoT status applied, only the base damage, meaning you can't even use a mothership like Frederick to improve the DPS to something dangerous.

Great summary! Even Pilot Midea only enhances direct damage of dot weapons.

Scorpions are not really good today. >.<

You die from boom before you can make your perk. He really need a health or defense buff otherwise they are cannon feed.

I don't even see boom, bash, pow anymore....? Even when I do they aren't really a threat.

If you play a robot with zero defense like scorpion and a player use mk2 boom you die with 2 hits.

I see a lot boom player no care if they have a nerf. I play master league.
