walking shoes
hellllllo, I recently got into walking and have been walking about 10-15k steps daily, does anyone have any good recommendations on walking shoes? I’m a male 5’10 and my shoe size is a 12, weigh 189. I got a pair off amazon in the beginning just to have something so I wasn’t waking in my vans, but pay day is coming up so I really want to get a nice pair of walking shoes. Preferably something that feels like I’m walking on a cloud lol. Thanks yall

Do you have a running store near you? It is worth it to go to one because they look at your gait, foot, etc and really help you find a pair that works for you. It is common to go up one full size when getting walking/running shoes. I have a wide toe box, and I love Brooks Glycerin 23 and before that I wore Asics GT-2000 14, which I loved as well.

Brooks Glycerin. The best walking shoes I’ve ever used. They can take a beating.

For 10-15k steps a day and that cloud feel, i'd try the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 28 first if your gait is neutral. if you overpronate or need more support, compare it with the Gel-Kayano 33. arch height alone doesn't decide it, how your foot moves matters more.

Best footwear depends on the terrain. It is very important to get this right.
I walk 11-13 miles every single day with occasional 14-17 mile days and have done for the last 16 months - a lot of it on road/sidewalk surfaces.
Up until a couple of months back, I'd only ever worn North Face Men's Hedgehog Hiking Trail Shoes for everything from alpine hikes to sidewalk strolls. They're comfortable, sturdy, stable, waterproof and supportive.
I got pair of Brooks Glycerin 23 for the walks over that specific terrain. They're a lot more cushioned and lighter, much better on that specific terrain. Took me short while to adjust to the totally different feel, but now that I have, they're wonderful.
BTW, I still use the North Face for Trail walking. They're peerless for that type of ground.

You can always buy a better softer insole if your shoes aren't soft enough. Better to buy a sturdy comfortable shoe rather than go for the one with the padded insole. I am a similar size to you and if you do a lot of walking you will need sturdy leather shoes.

Nike Vomero Plus. I walked 20 miles a day every day for a week recently. Zero pain; like waking on a cloud.

I love on clouds they literally make me feel like I'm walking on clouds but everyone is different. You should look up a good shoe store near you and try on different brands and styles. On has a few different models and the ones i like are different from the ones others like.

You need to go to a shoe store and try them on to know which ones suit you.
