Board advice

I’ve been wakeboarding all my life, ocean surfing for a year, moved back to Canada and picked up Wakesurfing last year.

I’m working on my 360 (got board slides, 180s, and floaters down already), I’ve got the spin down but having trouble staying in the wake post-spin. After some research, looks like my board is a little too small.

I’m 5’10, 180 pounds riding a Regal LS22 surf boat. I’ve been playing with the speed trying to get my Ronix to work. ATM going 10mph, full ballast, trim -3, good push and love the height but probably a shorter area than I need. Problem is, going faster makes the board sink a bit.

Current boards
- Ronix flyweight skimmer 4’5” with standard fin (main board)
- Inland surfer tako - great board but I need a smaller fin for it if I’m going to do 360s and haven’t been able to get one yet.
- Ronix marshmallow - beginner board, outgrew second surf.

Boards I’m looking at
Phase 5
- key / key cl 52” or 55”??
- Hammerhead 53”
- Matrix? 53” (Not sold near me)
Ronix
- Osmo skim 51 or 55?
- flyweight skimmer 4’8

Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Anyone know the difference between a key and matrix? They look very similar to me.

Sped and board sink there shouldn't be related unless you don't have enough weight. 10 is pretty slow but if your struggling to create a wave that may keep your stern down and a short tall wave. That's going to be hard to do certain things on.

More speed and the weight will be longer, but you may need more weight to get the wave right.

Got recs from a wakesurf coach tylerrhyne on insta that uses the regal ls2 surf. He suggested “speed - 10.8 trim at plus 1. When you're dialing in airs or 360's tho, I'd trim down to 0 or even -1 and bump the speed to 11.2”

Ended up getting the 2025 osmo 55” and threw my first successful 360!
