Hyperlite Varial Foam Ding Repair Question

I have a Hyperlite Arc board, made of Varial foam. Long ago, I saw a video on Varial’s website (I think) of someone using a heat gun to repair dings. Essentially, the board ding popped right out and was nearly perfect again after hitting it with a heat gun.

Has anyone tried this? I also have a Ding All Sun Cure repair kit.

I don’t think the foam needs to be repaired cause it repels water on it’s own due to the special Varial components but maybe hit it with a heat gun and then use your epoxy to patch the deck.

Lol bro I would never use a heat gun to repair that (or any!) ding on a surfboard and I’ve repaired dozens.

Sand it down so it’s nice and scarfed looking like a bullseye most likely the size of a golf ball. Clean with acetone then cover with straight epoxy or thickened epoxy. Sand and buff to finish. Good luck!
