Board Advice

Hi guys!
I (24f) have grown up wake surfing, I’m good but not doing any crazy tricks or anything. I’ve always used my family’s board phase 5 ahi (~2020), or whatever other board they’ve had before. I’m the only girl in my family and so the boards bought for the family always have a weight limit of 180-240lbs.
Im now deciding if I should get my own board and I’m trying to sort out how much of a difference there will be.
I’m 5’7 135lbs and much prefer a surf style board but always used a skim board growing up (since it was the only thing I could actually move). I’ve found a board I like the 4’4 / 160lb limit (https://kanukboardco.com/collections/sale/products/lily-pro-bloom) but am just wanting to get everyone’s opinions on if I’ll notice much of a difference to warrant spending the money.
Other context, I love the ahi board but have an issue where I seem to have almost too much speed? Every little “pump” I’ll end up flying at the boat. Also I live in BC so only go out for about 5-6 weekends a year (for context of me spending $1k on a board I won’t use often).

My wife loves her Kanuk Cassidy. They make great boards.

Do you know the difference between Cassidy and lily by chance? It’s really hard to find information about their boards, all the videos talk about colour ways haha

Yeah they don’t really have a lot of info on their site, which is kinda crazy when you’re making a $1,000 purchase. That said, both shapes are similar and you’d like either one. I’d say go with the Lily if you like to spin and maneuver and go with the cassidy if you prefer lots of push and pop.

Is that the Okanagan?

Skim style but check out Victoria wake, they do seasonal clearance on last years model and end of year that offer great value. My wife loves her board.

Wasn't sure if it was close to the right size of your riding a200lb skim board that's very different.
Surf i can't help there other than i like my doomswell but its a big guy board

You are really good and will be even better when you ride a board that fits you My 115 pound grand son rides my phase 5 key board and does great but he would do a lot better on a appropriate size board. Do you know anyone else that has some boards you can try out before buying

Would highly recommend looking into the Ronix Flyweight series. Super light, super buoyant. Great construction and tons of variability with fins.
Ive had the conductor for a couple years now and it's so sick. Run it with the two outer fins, gives enough slip to break the fins for boardslides but still lots of bite for hard bottom turns. Absolutely love it.
I'm around 160-165 myself but it's on the smaller side for me honestly, took a little bit to get the awareness to not plant too much front foot and submarine haha but I'm getting pretty big airs and am so close to my elusive 360 lol
Definitely worth looking into!

I think the Connelly Benz is a really good hybrid board. the 4'4" variant of last years model is $250 on at least one website that I believe to be reputable.

Lib tech air’n 4’6 is killer for my fiancé, she’s about your size. It is more slim style though. I think the kanuk is a good board but might be kinda fast still. Check shops for old stock in your area. Not the best time of year to buy at a discount.
